It's not a matter of wanting the tank or not anymore, we ARE tanking. Trading away Lou ensured that. What's even more convincing is that we continue to play Deng, when he is absolute garbage. I'm still rooting for wins during games, but the Lakers are tanking, there is no doubt about it. We WILL finish with a bottom 3 record, it's all a matter of the ping pong balls bouncing our way again.

If I had to guess, I'd wager it's because he "goes to the hole a light-skinned dude".

Lavar Ball on ESPN 710 and wow... this man is insane. He just said he has told Nike and Adidas that his son wants partnership deals like Jordan, not just a signature shoe...

This man is going to cost his son millions and millions of dollars. Honestly at some point he could end up hurting his son's draft stock. He's already pissing off pro players... Lonzo is going to have to dump this dude at some point. Tough for a 19 year old.

It's crazy cause Lonzo seems like a chill and humble guy. I have a friend that has a couple classes with him at UCLA and Lonzo does actually go to them. From my friend, he doesn't walk around campus like he owns it.

He just needs to somehow tell his dad to stfu. You could also blame ESPNLA for giving the dad a platform. I'm willing to bet they'll be talking about him all day today.

Lonzo first then his brothers in just a few years .... Pops can smell the money and can't keep the thought of it in his pants. (credit to someone here for that analogy with something else a few days ago)

I don't know how much his stock could really fall but you will absolutely hear stuff around draft time about how Ball's father scares teams.

This is the shot that interests me. Can he do this regularly against NBA defense? I don't know. I tend to think he won't be able to, but he got his shot off there pretty quickly.

I think he can regarding that floater, realdeal. Bottom line, Ball can score the ball and he can shoot. His jumper looks funky but it goes in. Shawn Marion's jumper was funky as well but he did just fine with that knuckleball. It wasn't a traditional high release either. Ball's size will help him in that regard against other PG's I think. He's just such an instinctual basketball player and sets up the offense so beautifully. 19 years old? Unreal. I truly hope we can land him.

I'd think that Ball will tell prospective teams not to mind his father...or they will just ignore his crazy ramblings.

The more you watch Lonzo Ball, the more you fall in love with him. That jumpers form might be ugly, but the rotation on the ball is natural. His ball handling and court vision are absolutely insane. The only problem with drafting him is what do we do with DLo? Because ball is definitely more of a PG than DLo, and I'm not sure DLo would be okay with being the 2.

The Lakers will experiment with pairing them together for a season maybe two but I think Russell will be gone.

I think they would actually be great as a backcourt tandem. Two guys with great vision, good size at guard, both can get hot from three. I would love to put them together! I don't see a problem there at all. I believe having Ball is the perfect complement to DLO and he could play more off ball.
