Magic says he's in no rush to go get a GM, but is working to get the right guy. He's already put in work. Jeanie and Magic are saying the right things (besides Magic making the calls the next 48 hours). Objectively, Magic and Jeanie look really shaken up like Weezy said. The two of them aren't exactly glowing with confidence right now.
I don't mind that or anything he's saying right now honestly. I don't think there will be any crazy trades. I just want to move Lou for a pick and I think the young Busses and West want that too. As always we'll see of course.
Magic says he's going to travel with the team to OKC in order to watch them live and feel their vibe.
I think they're safe for the time being absent some killer offer. I could see someone getting shipped off this summer though. Long term I don't think anyone is safe outside of Ingram.
Magic says he knows there's no quick fix. That's good to hear. He's sort of insinuating that the young guys are probably sticking around.
We're back Baby!!! In the NEWS. All day every day while this watershed moment in Lakers history plays out. Go eff yourself LeBron. "We're all witnesses" now Jeanie.
Surely the lakers will play with their best effort on Friday seeing as Magic will be there. I'd DLO doesn't get some fire under his a$$ from this change then he'll be packaged. Of course this change will likely mean we miss out on that lottery pick when the team plays better to end the rest of the season.
Magic, for all his faults, is very honest about what he knows and doesn't know. That makes me feel better. Jeanie and Magic also keep talking about the "New Lakers" and not trying to recapture the past. I like the sound of that.
I also like that he is downplaying the "Showtime" thing and talking about the new Lakers and it's about them not rehashing the past. I don't have a problem with anything proposed so far.
This "interview" is a straight creampuff fest. Bres trying to set the record for most leading questions ever asked in a single interview...
Magic wants someone who has relationships with NBA personnel. Aka Mitch had no relationship with current NBA personnel which hurt like hell in FA talks. Getting a GM like Pelinka would help that tremendously.
