I wonder if the billionaire co owners of the Lakers (AEG, the surgeon) have any say in all of this, as well as Spectrum Sportsnet. It's possible they could have put some pressure on Jeanie to do something. Honestly none of us are privy to how any of that works. All I know is something had to be done, now something was done. Let's hope for the best in the meantime.

That's got to be it. There were probably factions in the organization of people who were in Jim/Mitch's camp and people in Jeanie's. I bet John fell into the wrong camp.

I'm wondering if the sudden firing is BECAUSE the two of them were about to do something crazy and they had to stop it. Everyone is assuming it was to do something crazy. Maybe is was to prevent it? I still think this was handled with all the grace of a hippo on ice skates.
why is anyone surprised by this? this is why magic was brought in. it was only a matter of time. i'm still not sold on him 100% but at this point anything is better than what we currently had sucks seeing mitch go after all he's done but at this point, a massive shake-up is what this franchise needs. the last few years have been hell. as for jim, it's about damn time. hope this means ryan west gets the GM gig, i think he's ready for it
