    Looks like his rehab is coming along nicely. He can sing without crutches and he's travelling with the team.

    Just saw a tweet from Ramona Shelburn saying Randle is getting surgery on the screw in his ankle soon. I assume it's a precautionary surgery since he's going to be out till next season anyway.

    Last I read, it was to replace the screw in his foot.

    I would understand that I guess he would need it structurally or something, but I wonder if he would just have it completely removed?

    Yes, but I read after removing the screw they jammed "medical velcro" back into the hole... better hold, lighter weight and more comfortable. [​IMG]

    But is there an end game to ever remove the screw? I mean, he's had this injury since high school, you would think it would have healed by now.

    One of the "Docs" should answer. I was just going for the cheap humor..... [​IMG]

    I'm curious too. Maybe they put a smaller, better placed, lower profile one in but hopefully like you say it can go without. Seems to me all the surrounding area would have completely fused and they could shoot some hi tech super strong bone cement into the hole the screw came out of. Easy for me to say .... not my foot. This is a good thing though clearly. If it was a concern prior to the season, perfect opportunity to do whatever they thought might be a better final solution.

    I take it that comment was said prior to the procedure which you reported below already happened. So a tiny rod into a drilled hole there too? Hope that takes care of it forever.

    Yes, a rod instead of a screw; he should be fine. I think that tweet came out before he had the surgery. Either way, it's fixed and shouldn't be a problem going forward.
