This isn't on Mitch at all, clearly he tried, this is on the Kings, because clearly their FO is stupid as hell.
No it didn't and I'm sure there are numerous other examples of someone trading with an organization they were formerly affiliated with. I was just noting one potential reason why the Kings wouldn't trade Cousins to the Lakers. The biggest one, is as noted, being in the same division. That's something that is brought up all the time for good reason.
I don't think we have ever done a deal with the Kings, and I'm not sure we ever will. For whatever reason, even with the rivalry loooong over and new owners they still won't deal with us. I get not wanting to deal in your division, but this seems to be personal or something.
F the queens and their fans, i dont feel sorry for them one bit....but i do think mitch didn't try hard enough
Kings were never going to commit $200mm to a nut job. At least the owner still has some business sense but the players in return lol. Should have called up Boston!
Fwiw I am glad the Lakers didn't trade Ingram for Cousins. Don't get me wrong, I think Cousins is an absolute beast and would have been a huge addition but I really think Ingram/Zubac are huge pieces for the team going forward. So trading one and blocking the other (unless Zubac would have been part of the deal, which very well could have been the case since the Kings are trading a C) isn't that exciting to me. Plus I may be in the minority on this one but after witnessing Bynum's immature antics, I'm not the biggest Cousins fan.
there's no guarantee Ingram turns into anything resembling Cousins nor Zubac......and while I think he's still a nut job, I think he would've been a more happy nut job playing for a team that he was fan of growing up. Who would honestly enjoy playing for the kings?
