i thought i was being pessimistic...losing to a reeling det team at home after a particularly embarrassing loss was extremely disheartening. the lakers responded like a 17-win team in that one. really sad that i'll be nervously watching the draft lotto again this year, hoping for a third consecutive year of luck.
I just want to know WTF is going on with Russell and Randle. With those two checked out we got no legitimate chance to turn this around.
While my 34 is still possible, it looks more like 25-ish to me right now. Too bad, because we were playing some nice .500 ball at the beginning of the season, and then... something happened.
Second Update. With 33 losses, no one else has been eliminated, but we'd have to go 31-2 for kareemthegreat33 to hit the mark. With 33 games remaining, everyone in italics would need the Lakers to win at least half of their remaining games. At the other extreme, KobeAnd8 needs the team to finish 6-27. scnottaken >9000 Lakers2015 66 kareemthegreat33 47 tada 45 LTLakersFan 44 ThizGuy83 41 rasalgethi 40 Doc Brown 37 Revgen 35 Sirronstuff 35 ninjamonkey 35 KobeAnd8 35** karacha 34 raviator 34 John3:16 33 gclaker 30-35 (33) alam1108 33 purp n gold 33 lakerfan2 28-36 (32) Time 32 lakerjones 32 battletested20 32 randlerofy 32 Cookie 32 kobecory8 31 savory griddles 31 kenzo 31 wcsoldier81 30 jbiggs 30 punk-101 30 Kou 28-32 (30) barnstable 30 kb24 30 trodgers 29 johnnyboy 29 abeer 28.5 pound4pound 27 Alcindor 24-30 (27) Weezy 20-30 (25.5) KobeAnd8 20-25 (22.5)*
We have nine games before the ASB. Denver, New York, Detroit, Milwaukee, Sacramento, and Phoenix are games we have a fighting chance in. I have to believe that we can go 3-6 or 4-5 in these games. That would get us back on pace: 19-39 or 20-38. Awful, but it would already be an improvement over last season.
Like every year ESPN predictions came out early in the season and people here thrashed them for being clueless and haters and what not... and at the end of the season, the Lakers fail to reach the prediction. It is comical.
Third Update. With 37 losses, Kareetmthegreat has been eliminated. With 27 games remaining, everyone in italics would need the Lakers to win at least half of their remaining games. scnottaken >9000 Lakers2015 66 kareemthegreat33 47 tada 45 LTLakersFan 44 ThizGuy83 41 rasalgethi 40 Doc Brown 37 Revgen 35 Sirronstuff 35 ninjamonkey 35 KobeAnd8 35** karacha 34 raviator 34 John3:16 33 gclaker 30-35 (33) alam1108 33 purp n gold 33 lakerfan2 28-36 (32) Time 32 lakerjones 32 battletested20 32 randlerofy 32 Cookie 32 kobecory8 31 savory griddles 31 kenzo 31 wcsoldier81 30 jbiggs 30 punk-101 30 Kou 28-32 (30) barnstable 30 kb24 30 trodgers 29 johnnyboy 29 abeer 28.5 pound4pound 27 Alcindor 24-30 (27) Weezy 20-30 (25.5) KobeAnd8 20-25 (22.5)*
I really didn't want to be in the ballpark on this.. I guess I shouldn't be as down on the team as I am having anticipated and young team and injuries making this season what it is. But we haven't really been that injured, nowhere near as much as the last few seasons, guys have missed a little time, but we've had no major injuries at all. Nance being out hurt us, buy other than that Randle had a bug, Russell had a boo boo, Nick missed a little time, nothing devistating. I think that's why we probably underperformed this season so far. I'm hoping we can finish solid though, I'm not on team tank.
We could still finish solid, with Zubac playing well, most of our guys healthy... and by "solid" I mean 30 at this point. Who knows...
