EddieEddie is a huge Raiders fan and HATES Brady. This has got to be killing him lol. That catch by Edleman reminded me of the Tyre helmet catch. This time, I really felt that the game was over.

I'd honestly be okay with this, even if it seems like a cheap dump. Just not to the Cavs. Glad they're not on the list. Sessions would be a nice guy to get under partial control.

I'd be okay with holding onto him, but I do have concerns about his salary potentially increasing massively - not doubling, to moving closer to the 8-9M range.

I do think Black is a solid fit here, and I wouldn't want to move him.

If we could get Splitter and Humphries for one of these guys, I'd be on it. Can't see it happening though.

Ultimately, Lou for a first or a player and a second might be the only move we have a shot at making that I'd be willing to do. But given that Nick is likely gone, we could see about swinging him for a late first or second.

    Russell/Sessions
    ?/Clarkson
    Ingram/Deng
    Randle/Nance/Robinson
    Mozgov/Zubac/Black

+ 1 late first rounder, +1 second rounder

Would allow us to pump some money into a SG and maintain some cap flexibility. If we fail going big, could look at Iggy, Redick, Tony Allen, or George Hill. It's not a great team, obviously, but it's improved financially and it would have to be a better team as the young guys mature. Then maybe with fewer years left on their contracts, someone like Deng or Mozgov would be easier to move.

I threw out Lou for Sessions + a 1st earlier (along with Ish Smith + a 1st from Detroit), so that is a deal I too am OK with.

If trading Lou assists the Lakers in keeping their 1st round pick and gets them an additional 1st round pick, then a depth chart could theoretically look like:

    (Fultz/Ball)/ Sessions / Huertas
    Russell / Clarkson
    Ingram / Deng
    Randle / Nance
    Mozgov / Zubac/ Black

+ 1st round pick (no 2nd round pick though as they lose that to Orlando). I left off Robinson as he is a FA and I can see him going elsewhere for a better opportunity.

As far as the idea of salary dumping Deng, I'd be all for it, but I don't see any team taking on that contract regardless of how useless the players they dump in return are. Much less including a pick in the process.

We're mostly in agreement, but I actually think we won't keep our pick - because we're going to win too many games.

We're only 6.5 games out of the 8th seed in the West. We're not getting there, but we're only five games from being ahead of Brooklyn, Phoenix, Philly, Minnesota, New Orleans, Sacramento, and Dallas. I just don't see us staying down far enough to keep the pick - especially if our young guys keep picking it up as they have been of late.

Nor am I, but he's a PG who can push the ball and could bring us a pick. I'll tolerate him for a year.

Which is why I favor trading Lou and/or Young.

It'll help the Lakers lose games to assist in keeping the pick OR if the Lakers do win too many games and lose the pick, at least they did it because the young guys played so well (and not so much due in part to a pair of 30+ year old guards racking up 30+ points per game)

As far as Sessions goes, he's a serviceable backup PG. Just ask Lebron the value of that haha

Sessions is a capable player who can also take it to the rim... At least this time, he won't be asked to throw the ball to someone, go to a corner and wait for a return pass.

I am glad people acknowledge this.

In the first seven games he started for us, he was averaging 14.9 points, 7.9 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and was shooting 52% from the floor. He went into the postseason with the ball being taken out of his hands a lot more, and he suffered for that.

If i remember correctly, Sessions played well to begin with and then Potato Head told him to slow down.

Over the weekend I looked at the top prospects that are projected to go 1-5 in the upcoming draft and based on everything I read and watched Josh Jackson seems to be the best fit of what we need. Defender, slasher, playmaker. As of late he's been decent from 3 but his mechanics aren't great.

I also looked into the Ball and Fultz comparisons and before the game on Saturday night, where they went up against each other I didn't really like Ball that much. But after watching that UCLA-Washington game on Saturday night and even though UCLA as a team was clearly better Ball really impressive and even if you looked at the box score for both Fultz and Ball, Ball clearly had the better overall game.

Fultz put up the numbers but Ball outplayed him and was better defensively. Fultz appeared to not really be in the game or come out with the right mindset while Ball was full of energy.

I can see that if Ball is going to be successful in the NBA he needs to go to the right team, one that is up and done and loves to move the ball. We are one of those team and his shot mechanic even though its definitely not fundamentally sound it does go in. Before the Washington game where he shot great from 3 he was shooting 42% from 3.

Fultz kind of reminds me of a CJ McCollum but slightly taller by a few inches. Don't really see the Wade comparison.

I can't say where I would take Fultz, Ball, or Jackson, but I think we'd be happy with any of those 3. Granted we keep of the pick of course.

I'm not sold on Jackson for us. I've got to do some more digging, but I'm just not sold.

I think you're spot on with your Fultz idea. I was watching a few of his games and I kept thinking I was watching McCollum. Fultz I think is a more talented version, but I also noticed quickly that Fultz has a very up-and-down attitude. Sometimes he's a fireball and other times he's a spit ball.

Randle also back in the starting five. Seems like the youth movement may be starting today.

Ball looks like he has great court awareness and good defensive instincts. Great highlight clip, thanks.

    And....

I've said it before that I am 100% on the Ball bandwagon and he is my choice. I think that Ball could be the missing piece in a future contending lineup with Russell, Ingram, Randle and Zubac.

Magic just tweeted that he and Luke just finished having a talk. Maybe this is a result, although I have little to no trust in Magic's player decision making. If this was because of him, It would be getting off to a good start in his new role.

What the hell Jamaal Wilkes had an even funkier looking shot. Long as it goes in. Sure shoots it from low though. Everything else looks noice.

Come to think of it Lou's shot while not as extreme and even Nick's seem to start from the sides a bit and not classically straight under as say Steph or Klay.
