Finally! Everybody in the know knows J.B. is the B.S. of basketball operations. He can't recruit, nobody trying to come here for him, and he's not respected. Lakers will be better when they move on from him. Come on Jeannie show some grit and dump this guy at seasons end, now would be fine with me.

When Lakers play well, I know when the games are and who we are playing.

When we suck, I find myself saying, "Oh, the game is on?" or "The game is in the 4th quarter?" or "We played yesterday? Looks like I'm glad I missed it. Yikes!"

I'm in section 2 right now, and it's sad. :dwightcrying:

The game was decided in the 1st quarter when we gave up 40 freakin points.

At what point do we have to start to look at our kids and wonder if we whiffed on Russell? For Ingram it's obviously waaaay too early. Randle is solid for the #7 pick. But Clarkson seems to be what he is at this point (and he's older too than the other kids at 24). I mean, we've had all these picks and all these years of losing and we may not have one legitimate star in the bunch, let alone a transcendent player.

I dont like his play either but so far I can think of 3 thats playings as well if not better than him.....obviously Porzingis, a lil bit with Booker and Miles Turner. However there was no way in well mgmt. could've justified picking Booker/Turner that early considering their draft stock a the time. I can't argue either way with Porziginis,I was afraid of the bust factor with him way more than anyone else chosen in the top 5

I'm not really saying we whiffed in the sense that we should have know better not to draft him. I just mean that we tried to pick a player for the team that ended up not panning out. Russell is a difficult player to deal with in that he is very talented, and he has value right now, but hold onto him too long and he may lose that value. Sell on him too early and it could really haunt you.

Russell's struggles are 100% maturity, IMO; not physical or talent limitations, or waiting on a guy with potential to pan out who never did (Wesley Johnson, Derrick Williams, etc). Guys like Javale Mcgee, JR Smith, Nick Young, etc started out as knuckleheads and are only moderately more mature after a decade of NBA growth. If Russell's in that camp, we whiffed. I think it'll take him a few seasons to get grounded. Right now he's still a know-it-all teenager, and yet he's shown enormous talent. He's playing for a great group of mentors and coaches and a great organization that values winning. I have a strong feeling he'll get "it" sooner than later. My one worry about immaturity actually comes from ownership. If there's bratty BS going on at the top, that ish can rot from the nexk down, negatively influencing the succeptable immature young players.

5-21 in the last 26 games...thats beyond frustrating.

Chumps not getting it done. We are pretty much back in the hunt for a top 3 pick (Currently 4th) with Suns, Heat and Nets having the top 3. We could still easily end up with the 2nd worst record should the Suns or Heat get hot at any moment.

10 of our next 13 games are on the road . It's probable only BK will have a worst record than us after this stretch

Suns have been trending upwards lately, even beating the Spurs.

It will be very interesting. Sadly, you can't have lottery luck EVERY year. Giving a very high pick to Philly will suck.

5-21 is only a hair worse than last season's win %. Perspective.

We currently have the 4th pick in the draft, which if we held pat, would be forfeited to Philly.

Weren't we 1 game out of a playoff spot a week ago?

You mean to be "slightly worse" than the worst record in Lakers history is not that bad? Especially when there is literally close to no internal growth from the young guys?

Sadly the biggest improvements came from the "old" guys by the name of Williams and Young. Had they been their last year's version, we would be in the top 3 worst teams in the league, easily.

I'm not so sure about Clarkson and Russell, but I see a substantial improvement from Nance and Randle. Nance continues to broaden his game and Julius has improved on his many weaknesses (although he still needs a lot of work)
