12-3 with Carr, pretty dominant showing. We'll take a mid-level pick (DB) and improve. We'll be back.
carr deserves the MVP he's the heart and soul of the raiders. not surprised at all they lost. that offense was not going to get past that houston D with those oakland backups
(We) Raiders are already back...just snake-bit at the end. The "will they be back?" question: - Nate Allen...played well in the absence of Karl Joseph. - Andre Holmes...can't crack the starting trio of Cooper, Crabtree and Roberts. Had a good showing today. - Malcolm Smith...liability in coverage. - Hayden...sign for cheap (really cheap?) or test the free agent market. - Austin Howard...if Watson could be healthy he won't be needed. - Menelik Watson...always injured. - Cook played as well as he could. Like sending a first year med student to do major surgery. - There was talk that Norton commented the team was too amped last week and Irvin said on the contrary...they were flat. I'd side with Irvin. - Needs...a corner, a right tackle, an inside linebacker. - I like Murray but he dances too much...Washington and Ree...shard hits those holes and they're gone. - Walford on his upcoming third year has to put it together. All that potential...
I think it is easy to get upset over the less than stellar finish of this season as the raiders went from a legit top 3 team in the league to being bounced by the Texans, but in the end there is still way more reasons to be happy. 1. The raiders have gone from a joke to one of the best teams in the league. 2. Carr's injuries are not serious, nothing is torn, nothing is weakened, its a break. 3. They have 51m in cap space. 4. Through the draft this front office has added perhaps the best defensive player in the league and a QB who just might be the next big thing. We have plenty of reasons to be excited for next year. I would have loved a deep playoff run, but if anything this will be great motivation for this team next year. If the defense can get themselves together the world is in trouble.
I mean we will be back to the playoffs. No one wanted to face is when we had Carr. And no one will next season. Holmes is a brutal blocker. We need him back.
New England is like the San Antonio Spurs of the NFL. On another note, our old friend Marcel Reece played last night in Seattle's win... I wouldn't mind seeing him be a champion. Reece stuck it out in our darkest times.
http://www.sbnation.com/2017/1/9/14...-2017-los-angeles-las-vegas-san-diego-oakland In a perfect world the Raiders would either stay in Oakland or move to L.A. But that's just personal preference. But it sounds like it's predicated on what the Chargers decide to do on the 15th. It still seems Las Vegas is in prime position to land the Raiders despite Oakland doing what they can to keep the team, but if some unforeseen circumstances arise that keeps the Chargers in San Diego maybe Davis jumps at the opportunity to relocate to L.A.?
No reason to hang your head if you're a Raiders fan. Derek Carr is a great quarterback and you can't lose that and expect to be the same. They probably have a bye and are in the AFC Championship Game against the Pats. Probably don't win, but at least put up a fight. Need to add some pieces on defense, but no reason to think Oakland won't be around for a long time to come.
very much proud of what our boys accomplished this season, we served notice...next season, collect bring Wade Philips on board and lets do this
