A lot of players after 10+ years in the league start to get Achilles issues worst being a complete tear (ala Kobe). An Achilles strain is similar to a tweaked ankle. It could be just a tweak and needs rest and ice or it can be something worse which can lead to a tear if he continues to play on it. Kobe must have had many reasons to rest but didn't knowing Kobe is too prideful to rest back n the day.

What the fudge is wrong with Deng? He absolutely sucks!

We need him to be a little productive at least.

yep, felt it in my bones. just a flat, flat performance. and NO really wanted that game. way more energy, and gentry left davis in for basically the entire second half because he was concerned about the lakers' second unit making a run. in fact, the two plays subsequent to when davis would probably normally have exited the game in the third, he hit two tough shots to pretty much end all lakers threats. thus, good bet in the short run, but if gentry plans to win games this way, davis is going to get hurt again, and soon. i feel like i'm watching the chris paul NO years in this regard.

anyway, back to the lakers: flush that game. everyone played like crap, save maybe randle and nance. happens, move on.

I blame Nick Young for getting himself hurt in the 1st damn minute with no thought of how it would affect the team. Team had no swag and cried uncle the whole 1st half. Shots weren't dropping either. Even A. Brown being on the "other team" couldn't save us in the 2nd half ..... hard as the reserves tried. Agreed .... flush it.

We aren't that good even if only one rotation player is out, Luke needs all his players for his voodoo to work

At least with Kobe's regular motion footage of his achilles incident you could see how severe his cut to the basket was and how it could happen. With Nick's footage there doesn't even seem to be any flexion of the right foot or achilles at all. I'm thinking this is not what it appears. Passive aggressive move to not have to play with DAR any more and act like he's over Phone Gate. Nick's not who we thought he was ..... Uncle P. He still hates DAR. C'mon Nick .... get over it.

Nick (2-4 weeks) and DAR out an undetermined amount of time, Julius just returning, easily the toughest month of the year ahead, Luke is going to have to be very clever to not have this be a disastrous month. Looking over the schedule 'till the end of December, I'm hoping we come out 16-20. With a lighter second half of the season and hopefully few injuries we can get that back up to the .500 range and in the 8th slot by April.

Good Win, but HOLY COW the missed Free Throws [IMG]

The Refs clearly missing the Lopez foul when he held Randle in the final 1-2 minutes in the 4th quarter. Hadn't yelled at the TV like that in a long time.

    Did I mention the Turnovers....

Not just turnovers, but unforced turnovers. Just lazy passing. It's very clear there's no chemistry with these units now that Young and Russell are out.

...they'll work it out. Having two key players out means there is an adjustment period when others have to step up.

Too many turnovers, missed free throws and missed layups/chippies. Imagine if we had played a cleaner game. Would have won by double digits. But you know what, gutsy team play to keep at it like we did and get the W. Props. Last year we would have lost this game in a blowout.
