Well, if the Spurs game is any example of how Lin performs after a Kobe 'tirade,' then I want more Kobe outbursts because it certainly didn't seem to affect Lin in any negative way; in fact, he had his best game in awhile...

This is what Lin said after the Spurs game...

    Serena Winters@SerenaWinters · Dec 12
    J. Lin on coverage of Kobe's trashtalk: "It was really really blown out of proportion. That's just what our practices look like." (on TWC)

Just to be clear, those are quotes from others in this thread in response to Alcindor.

I didn't mean anything derogatory. I hope it didn't come across that way. A lot of Asian American kids are like you, but I've also seen some who I'd call submissive... beyond respect. Lin's probably closer to how you are. I was just wondering if he was like the submissive type.

Congrats to my favorite player of all time and props to the Timberwolves organization for that nice moment.

If kobe plays one more season after the last year of his contract, he'll do it.

The way he keeps talking I don't know how long he can keep up at this pace. It's honestly starting to worry me, and I don't think Byron cares enough or is in denial.

    And these I just liked

I don't follow many people on Twitter so I don't know, but here's one from a young player most likely grew up with Kobe being his MJ

And is it just me or does Wiggins remind anyone else of a very young Kobe. Only little flashes of greatness there, I see a similar shot and build (tho Wiggins is bigger), just something about the kid reminds me of first 2 Kobe seasons. Kobe was raw in many ways then, but the talent was apparent.

I don't know if Wiggins will be any good, I just see a lot of similarities in them at that same age range. Kobe took what he had and worked his butt off to make the most of it and become what he has, it's up to Wiggins if he does the same, I see a lot of the tools there.

How many have there been like that though? There's been a dozen guys with all the tools, it's about everything else more than the tools. The greatest thing about Kobe is he's never been the MOST athletic or the MOST talented, he's been the one that best UTILIZES his tools. For instance JR Smith has all the talent in the world, but none of the heart or head. It's too early to say if Wiggins has it, but I don't think I see it in him.

I just mean they have similar body types, both look a little awkward in their movements at this age, they have similar looking shooting form at that age, and they they look similar in the way they move, again, at that age. I meant nothing more than that, dang guys lol. Never meant I thought he'd be great, or the next Kobe, just that they play and move very similar at that age. Kobe was nothing like he was in his prime or now as a rookie.

I don't think Wiggins has the mental-make up to be that good. Who knows, maybe he's a silent reaper like Durant. He's doing well so far.
