Not even Phil/Pop could save us from "Kobe" last season. Dude went all out, mamba style. That's what made him a legend.

My WMC? The god dang Spurs hitting every shot despite GREAT defense by our guys. I couldn't believe some of these shots that were going in, especially from Parker. Also, I didn't like Jose Calderon starting. Should have been Clarkson or Williams and then play CLarkson, Young and Williams the entire game by alternating those 3 between the 1 and 2 spots. I think that Calderon really hurt us defensively yesterday even though he only played 13 minutes....some of that was in the first Q, and then in the 3rd Q...the two quarters that we kinda let get away from us.

That was a really bad shot by Russell there at the end. Down by only five with still 40-something on the clock and he goes for a 30 footer? Take the damn ball inside, get a two maybe you get a 3 point opportunity then trust your defense. But still, the way they played in the second half getting out rebounded badly and turnovers, letting Butler do whatever the hell he wanted, no wonder they lost. Growing pains I guess, this is just some of lumps we knew they would take.

We've given up over 100 points to the opposition the last 4 games and we're 1-3.

Close game but no moral victories here.
Second half was an absolute mess. No rebounds and a bunch of unforced turnovers. Thought Luke kept an ice cold JC in there way too long, should have probably put Nick in much earlier.

Terrible, absolutely terrible shot from DAR down the stretch there when we were down 5 with a min to play. I understand trying to get a quick shot but there was still a lot of time left, maybe if Lou shot it I wouldn't have been so mad cause he was actually on fire during the game. Luke should have drawn up a play there.

Besides that, still no rim protection and way too many bad fouls. Growing pains I guess, especially jarring now with us over-achieving to start the season.

Well if bad news was Butler getting 40... good news is we should be able to hold Westbrook to 55 ...and then we have our patsies the Warriors back to back.

Seems like we'll have trouble defending the 2-3 spot this year

I counted 3 baskets not at the rim for Butler on his 14 makes ... This is on Luke too , maybe , just maybe tell your players to go under the screen

Well when Russell and Clarkson give us 4-23 combined they need to make it up in other ways. DLo did move the ball and find people. Shots were just not dropping for those two.

What is up with the defense? Is it merely the pace?

Its not merely the pace. The Lakers were a flat out terrible defensive team. This year they are just terrible.

Barely any Laker is known for his defense except maybe Deng, who looks old.

But sure, the pace does make it a little more visible but it seems like the Lakers will always allow 110-120 points. If they score more they win, if not they lose.

We gave up 1.13 pts per poss in the latest 3 ,

The current worst defense ( Port) is giving up 1.077 pts per poss ... best offense GS is scoring 1.128 pts per poss ... so yeah the D has been flat out terrible lately ( the previous game against Sota too , gave up 1.26 pts per poss !!!!)

We did play 3 against top 10 offenses in the latest 4 games but even against BK the defense wasn't good ...

We are just allowing too many FTs /at the rim shots and opponents are scoring at a very high % on those ...

seems like luke is getting annoyed with the slippage on defense. wonder if he'll make some lineup/rotation changes based on it. though i think overreacting to this very difficult stretch might exacerbate problems. wait until the lakers have gotten a chance to dig out of the hole after the two warriors games (they should be three games under .500 at that point). if they respond by continuing the downward trend, time to crack the whip, start MWP style!

OKC isn't a good team ... a loss would be very dissapointing, especially after dropping 2 in a row

... even if last night was a bad one , Chicago has had some quality wins on the road , OKC is 8-6 playing 10 games at home ( including Sixers, Suns, Lakers , BK , Sota , Magic , Pacers and still managed to lose 2 of these games ).

I guess losing KD will give you a soft a** schedule to begin the season with
