That looks like mediocrity for years to come. I'll pass.

I don't mind that. How can Washington not at least listen to those offers?

    Yeah. No thanks.

The rebuilding is working. We're back on the right path. I wouldn't blow it up now.

Having watched him play many times back when I lived in DC, I'm not nearly as high on Wall as others are. I wouldn't give up that much for him.

You're not blowing anything up; If you can at least keep 2 of your main pieces (Randle, Ingram), and centered a package around @therealdeal is saying, then you're still in fantastic position.

Not only that, you'd have a PG who is ELITE at his position and an All-Star. You go into FA next year ahead of the curb.

Additionally, what if you can stretch and waive Deng, and add Blake Griffin next year (don't even know if that' possible) . Admittedly, I love Wall's game every since he came out of University of Kentucky. I'd love the potential with him on this team.

Wall, while not the exactly a pure PG, is one of the better passing ones in the league.

I wouldn't give up both DAR and JC though but it would probably take that to do at least get Washington interested

That's crazy. Not because we're giving up to much or its not fair, but its crazy because I'm not blowing up this team for a talent like Wall who IMO has peaked or is real close to being as good as he will be in his career. Where as Russell, Clarkson, and especially Zubac.... we don't know yet.

I would not make this trade even though it would likely be what we'd have to give up.

Russell and Clarkson is just too much in my opinion. I think the Wizards would be getting the better end of the deal in the long run.

Wall is good but it Would just feel like a step back into us trying to grab names rather build a team.

I think the team is actually on track to win 35 to 40 games which should already make us more attractive to free agents.

No one on the team is untouchable but I think we can do better. Especially if we're giving up both of those guys.

I don't think it would take D'Angelo AND Clarkson FWIW.

What if it is just a package centered around D'Angelo?

    Thanks for defending the trade.

For the record I wasn't saying I'd do them, but it'd take a package like that to make the deal work. The Wizards aren't going to give him away, they'd need a lot to move him and we'd have to comply. If a deal were to get done, they'd look like the ones I posted.

From our perspective, I don't want to give up D'Angelo AND Clarkson, but I don't see a scenario where D'Angelo alone is enough for Wall. If we still had our pick, then that changes the equation but we have a very spotty pick situation for the next two years. If we had our pick, we could do something like D'Angelo, pick, and Zubac and that'd be more than enough to make it work. Without the pick, the Wizards will want something more proven.

Also for what it's worth, Wall would NOT mire us in mediocrity any more than we're potentially mired right now. Salary cap next year will be 102 million and we'd have a guaranteed contract total of around 85 million. We'd have enough to offer a large contract and if we're able to shed Deng's we'd have a ton of room to make a huge splash in FA now that we'd have a legitimate star along with good young talent like Ingram, Randle, and Nance Jr.

Again: wouldn't make the trade today, but check back around the deadline and that attitude might change.

I would be open to a package with just Russell.

Yeah. Ask me this again around the All Star break I suppose.

But I agree with the difficulties in putting something together with just Russell. It's another reason I think we are better off staying pat. The risk of regretting letting any combination of our young guys go is too high for my taste.

Wall has two surgically repaired knees and is being kept off of b2bs.

    No thank you.

PG13 is a taller Kobe, I'll sign up for that but Indy won't especially if Thon Deng is involved

This concerns me even if the deal is hypothetical at this point.

With the alleged reports that George is questioning the Indy situation... Anything is possible.

Well we know who ever goes to the east is instantly better lol.

If walls health going forward isn't looking pretty the trade is dead to me.

That's OK, saw an interview with Wall recently where he said you were "dead to him".
