Thats not true real. America's stupid election rules from 18 hundred something made this happen.

I'm not saying Clinton is good. I'm saying your president calls mexican rapists...your president laughs at disabled people...your president has zero humanity and is an a** in every possible way. Congratulations on choosing one of the biggest tools on the planet to represent your country.

We will talk in 5 years and see how things go. Its easy to talk ahead of the game.

Hillary...with all her shaddy and dirty behaviour...was still more acceptable than Trump...the definition of a populist...he will talk a lot and do nothing.

The Clinton campaign totally screwed up. They sunk to his level, and instead of showing people what she offered, her campaign was focused on what trump was doing, feeding his machine. Unfortunately, trump is much better at mudslinging.

It's not even just Trump it's that wikileaks and her political career hammered her. You can only call black/brown teenage boys "super predators", give hidden speeches to corporations and foreign powers, and con people out of money for Haiti aka your pocket so much before people stop supporting you even if it means voting for the orange faced racist.

I agree the system is antiquated in some ways this psycho might be the one to inspire change. Not him per se, but politicians afraid of what this anarchy means will hopefully see the light: massive governments around the world have been taking from their people for too long. The people are sick of it. What was supposed to be a public service has turned into a tenured position of elitist power. That cannot continue.

I didn't vote for this guy. Congratulating me is wrong. I hate Trump. I don't want him as President, I'm just not short sighted enough to be pining after Clinton who is equally as bad as Trump and in some ways worse. Trump maybe a callous, idiotic, orange-faced dimwit, but he is at least not what Clinton is: a conniving, poisonous snake who has stood on lie after lie after lie as if that foundation could hold her up. She's been incompetent at almost all her political jobs, she's been at least partially responsible for the rise of ISIS, she's been just as cruel as Trump has behind closed doors.

Your argument that Hillary is better is based off of professionalism and... air? Nothing? She's "well qualified" if by that you mean she has been part of the despicable group of oligarchs who have lead us here for the last 30 years. She is no better than Trump and in some ways she's even more dangerous.

I am no Trump supporter and I never have been. He will at (likely many) times be an embarrassment to the nation. That does not for one second mean that Hillary would be better. There is no true argument for Hillary being better than Trump or vice versa.

    - President-Elect Donald Trump

And yet, less than 48hrs after he won the election, there are already names being floated around for cabinet and advisory positions that include Wall Street executives, former Bush appointees, GOP establishment figures, etc. Hell, the guy leading this transition is Chris Christie whose own two former aids are convicted felons

    People have been bamboozled.

So we're gonna criticize him for the picks he hasn't made yet?

If he picks Wall St folks and makes other bad choices, I'll be right there with you criticizing him.

The meeting today between Obama and Trump makes me hopeful. No secret they didn't like each other. But they appear to be professional and working to heal. I don't remember, but I feel like this is the first time an outgoing and incoming president met like this. Am I wrong? I know Obama said Bush W was gracious in making a smooth transition, but I don't know that they met right after the election.

What is so bad about Hillary? The only real issue I had was her funding. She didn't lie about much, at least not outright, unlike trump. There is no measure under which you could say she's worse than this persona he was portraying to his base. I say that because now apparently "pro life" and "Muslim banning" has been taken off his site.

Probably, but i'm not really interested in joining hands and singing kumbaya to be quite honest.

Democrats, progressives, and liberals across the country need to mobilize and be prepared to obstruct and use any all legislative procedural BS like the Republicans did the last 8 years.

People can hate on that, and argue we should "join in unity", but if this was Hillary as President-Elect they would do the same thing.

^^^ you can try. Just remember, Republicans have the White House, Senate, House of Reps, and Supreme Court (and by the end of Trump's term will have Supreme Court set for the next 10 to 15 years).

Bernie had the perfect statement. He acknowledged that like him, Trump tapped into he frustrations that middle class America has with establishment politics and media. He said he's willing to work with Trump if he truly seeks to improve the lives of the struggling middle class. And then he said he would vigorously oppose any attempts from Trump's administration to enact anything racist/sexist/xenophobic.

That's how it should be. Don't gridlock the guy just for the sake of revenge for the last 8 years. Hear him out and TRY to work together because his campaign truly did tap into some things that middle class supporters from both sides could agree on.

I've said this before, but personally I don't think Trump is a bigot who wants to take away rights for all minorities as he's been portrayed. But he's now in bed with the establishment GOP who I tend to think has a large portion of greedy douches and zealots. So yes, if the GOP ends up puppeteering Trump into poor policy decisions that victimize the middle class, then yes the democrats need to fight that.

BUT the first step in doing that is to figure out what the Democratic Party even IS at this point. They need to clean house and start from scratch. Apparently Donna Brazille spoke to the DNC today and one person angrily asked why they should trust her to lead the party after the corruption she participated in for her personal gain helped give Trump the presidency ... But that was just one person. Reportedly everyone else drank Brazile's Kool Aid. If that's the case, they've learned nothing and they don't stand a chance of successfully organizing against a republican majority.

Fire everyone in power at the DNC, rebrand yourself as the party for the middle class with a huge emphasis on transparency and no corporate funding, and hand the keys to real progressives like Bernie and Warren.

You really think Donald Trump is going to take up Bernie Sander's offer?

Yea sure, work with Trump if he decides to rip up the TPP, but if you are liberal what else in his platform is progressive?

The Republicans are already at work to repeal Obamacare day one, construct a conservative bench in the Supreme Court, rip up the Paris Climate agreement, and the Iranian nuclear deal. Oh and if the rumors are true, and he installs Rudy Giuliani or Chris Christie to head the DOJ, those of us in California can say bye to Prop 64.

I'm gonna say this again to everyone on the Left. Liberals from the grassroots level to Congress needs to accept the outcome of the election, acknowledge Donald Trump as President, move on, and be ready to go to work and fight him.

And yea, like you said, clean house at the DNC.
