Trivia that probably only interests me: ...picked Amerson and Riley off Redskin cuts. No wonder Del Rio said something along the lines that he asked who Washington will give him next.
From SI's Fine 15 rankings: 3. Oakland (7-2). LW: 8. The offense has been leading the way for most of the season, but Sunday night we saw the kind of defense the Raiders would need in January.
SI's Power Rankings by Chris Burke 4. Oakland Raiders last week: 5 record: 7–2 Monday night’s cathartic win over Denver was the football version of that Christmas Story scene where Ralphie just beats the hell out of the school bully. “Something had happened. A fuse blew, and I had gone out of my skull.” The rage had been building for a long time. Oakland finally unleashed it in a flurry of haymakers.
Tuned in to NFL TV's "Insider" last night...one of their segments was the usual second half predictions. Esiason has an Oakland-New England AFC Championship Game in snowy Foxboro. Phil Simms somewhat agreed AND picked his old team to win the NFC East. Brandon Marshall pointed out to both that our schedule heats up with tough opponents both home and away. Oh and Esiason loves Marquette King both the player and personality.... They cued up the Bronco riding routine on the show. "This is about a new glory! A new mystique! Raider football at its finest! We don't quit! We don't die! We just inflict pain!"
Man... For the first time in forever I am really having Raiders withdrawals. I have always hated the bi weeks but the last few years they were welcomed because, as I use to say, at least we couldn't lose that day. Now, I'm all geared up for who we gonna beat next. I missed that feeling it is great to see the boys bringing back that pride for the fans again. OK that is all
New England losing helps you guys though. Oakland has a legit shot at that number one seed in the AFC.
OH man... Monday night can't get here soon enough. Huge game for us. I say that a lot. Prime time game against a really good team... We need this win with the schedule we have coming up.
My concern is that we come out flat after a huge, emotional win against Denver. Agree about the schedule. No cupcakes there...tough roadies against our division foes.
