"These (Expletives) Aren't Doing (Expletive) For Me" - Kobe Bryant Yelling To Mitch Kupchak While Leaving Practice http://www.lakersnation.com/kobe-unhappy-at-practice-calls-lakers-soft-like-charmin/2014/12/11/ We all knew these outbursts would happen sooner or later. Kobe is a special kind of competitor, can only take so much frustration. He'll come down to earth again, be calm, but eventually this sort of thing will happen later in the year too. Edit: lol
Byron Scott sits Kobe out of practices to save his legs. He comes back to practice and immediately notices that the team is not practicing hard. Byron, just play Kobe less minutes and have him participate in practices more. Kobe's work ethic is one key attribute that our players can pick up from him.
Good of Nick to do this. I can only imagine how Lin handled this. Maybe cried when the Kobe verbal assault rained in. And @thkthebest to your post above:
If Jeremy Lin is already having confidence issues, does Kobe really think it is best to go at him like that? That probably does nothing for Lin but upset his confidence level even more. Sure tough love works at times, but I have seen it not work many more times with people who have confidence issues.
I doubt it was frustration in the way most will assume. I think it was quite honestly guys dogging in a practice and he didn't like that. He's always said he's okay with the losing if these guys are working their hardest. If they're not working, he's going to be upset. He clearly saw they weren't working hard.
If they can't handle Kobe in practice, they sure as hell aren't going to mentally handle a deep playoff run. Mentally weak people can get shown the door.
Credit to Kobe. I am surprised he lasted this long without blowing up. Not a very big deal; if guys can't handle it, oh well.
You guys crack me up. You don't get a championship team by ignoring problems. Kobe is correct to expose things. It is then up to the people being exposed to step up.
Good set of tweets. Was expecting this from Kobe at some point. I can actually see Lin breaking down from this but good of Nick trying to play good cop to Kobes bad cop.
How many of you think, along with me, that everything you've heard about practice today was awesome? You can create winners
What is this, high school? No, Lin needs to man the @#% up. Seriously, if you're not gonna accept Kobe's challenge, then you might as well check out. I don't want those types of players here. Lin may have this potential we've already seen, but if he doesn't have the balls to go toe to toe, why bother? Kobe respect's effort as much as talent. Why do you think he loved Fish so much? Kobe is trying to push these guys to improve. Meanwhile, you have 400+ other players out there wanting you to fail for their chance at what you have. How is there no motivation to push yourself there? I really backed the Lin trade, but he's really proving me otherwise.
