Media Day is coming up on Monday the 26th, figured there should be a thread for all the pics/comments. I'll be there with Lakers Nation and I'll do my best to get some solid quotes from the guys that I get a chance to speak with.
Wow. No news to contrary? Nick looks like he will be going to camp and getting his pics taken with the team?
Well .... maybe can fix him and this awkward situation. If anyone can, he can. Short of Mitch doing it by getting rid of him.
Luke sure has become a legendary coach with awesome powers of persuasion without a ton of evidence to support it. I hope he lives up to fans' expectations.
I might get the NBA package for this team.... maybe, idk, graveyard isn't really a good shift when wanting to watch Laker games live. One thing is for sure though, I can attend these Lakers game without the price being an arm and a leg when they come to SAC
I always forget how boring media day is. Every interview, "excited/ready to get to work". My positive takeaway, these players love Luke, and that's refreshing. The real fun starts when we get practices going and footage from that and preseason ball.
I think since they couldn't find a deal for Nick that Luke, rather than just burning money for the organization and saying, "yeah I don't need any additional stress with having him here ... go ahead and buy him out" ..... actually wants to see up close and personal under himself and the staff he has assembled ..... every last bit of talent that is possibly going to be available to him, long as it is already here. Luke the chess player with seeing 3 moves ahead in the game rather than 2, and I'm sure will be employing that toward his rotations and substitutions on a nightly basis based on what is needed for our best possible matchups at all times. He will use larger rotations than we have ever seen around here, when needed. That's why it's so important to have all these guys buying into the all for one and one for all "TEAM" concept.
I don't want Nick around any of our young players though. I don't want them at his parties, don't want them around Gilbert Arenas through Nick, I want him gone. Nothing good happens around Swaggy P, it would be more beneficial to pay him to go away, he needs to go. If there is any sliver of negativity or dark clouds hanging around this team from last season that could once again pop up as an issue in the locker room, it is Nick Young, all by himself.
I totally get that too. Not worth the risk. I'm just guessing and wondering why they didn't buy him out when they couldn't find any takers. The front office with Mitch and Jim have to be aware of that. Jeanie, not so much. She's probably planning her next stabbing of Jim when least expected. yep am still very bitter. Can't believe she green lighted the timing of the Ding article. Sabotage pure and simple. Could even be linked to much more sinister plot. What can Jeanie do to win me back? LOLOL. I don't really know but am certain she could not care less what I think. I posted a tweet last year on her site that the Lakers should pay Kobe whatever it took, whenever he was in the mood and in town ..... to play the Steve Nash hands on player development role up in SF..... here with the Lakers. Keep him in shape plus he'd have the playing and trash talking available that he'll miss. Great idea and certainly harmless, no slam on her. Got deleted in like 5 minutes no comment. So I assume her focus with her twitter feed is all feel good s***, no substance from the President of the Lakers franchise now ..... instead it's all the Lakers pet and baby gear sales and "fluff". SIGH!!
