Little has come easy to the Lakers who have attempted a league-low 26% of Open+ (open, guarded, or pressured) shots.

    1.07
The Lakers are allowing 1.07 points per shot by opposing teams. Tied with Minnesota for worst in the NBA.

    0.15.

In the young season, Kobe Bryant's 0.15 Open+ frequency ranks 361st out of 375 qualified players. In other words, he has barely gotten an open look.

    0.215

The Lakers rank worst in Points Per Allowed Per Screen (21.5) and Effective Screen Defense Rate (80.1%) over the last three years.

Wow! Those are good (for perspective and awful for the Lakers).

    Maybe we need another shooter.

I looked at Kobe's numbers today at 82g. Not sure when they were updated, but I bet it was since Young returned - Kobe's individual numbers are looking excellent at SF and at -.1 at SG, and his team offense/defense numbers are looking so much better.

It is interesting, to be sure, but I don't know what to make of it. Any thoughts?

Yep. Our starting lineup needs a change.

I'm not sure exactly what change that should be, but something isn't working with that group.
