I'm willing to take some heat as a "Jim lover." How exactly is this Jim's fault? The recent Ding article is all on Jeanie, so please explain how Jim screwed this up before we can legally meet with any free agents? I'll accept a general argument against the Buss family, I'm just sick of Jeanie being let off the hook.

Well, free agency doesn't sound promising at all right now. Still a good offseason overall with Luke and Ingram, but I would still like for us to sign someone who can make a real impact on the team.

The failure to me is not that we aren't likely to sign an impact player, it's that we can't even turn an ear. Nobody is listening. We (or at least I) laughed at the Kings when no one would workout for them. Here we are in an extremely similar place with 60 million to spend and no one looking our way. That to me is a failure. We should at least be getting some meetings from some people.

Its part of his job to get FA's here. He has failed miserably and he's hired 4 terrible coaches in the last few years. If magic johnson had jims position do you really think we wouldn't even get meetings? Its a HUGE slap in the face for such a prestigious organization to not even get a meeting.

To be fair, that's also Jeanie's job and Mitch's job.

All three need to go. I think that's where the confusion is. If we're going to blame Jim, let's also blame Mitch and Jeanie who are equally responsible if not even moreso.

I am beginning to wonder if Walton aside...the whole Laker brass is a total disorganized clusterf**k of a group.

I edited my post to clarify, but a big part of this is Jeanie's mudslinging. Who knows of the Ding article mattered in the end, but she literally gave Ding a slam piece 2 days before free agency. Where's her blame?

The article stated things that fans and players have known for YEARS. Nothing new. But the mudslinging is lame. I agree.

I mean it's early in the process and we're going to skate back and forth as more and more news breaks, but if they fail to attract freaking anybody and don't get any freaking meetings, then yes the entire management staff needs to go.

If Toronto max DD, that leaves Biyombo open. Lakers may need to go after him if Whiteside goes elsewhere. Lakers need a center, BAD.

Yeah but how many of those teams had 60 million dollars to spend and were the Lakers? None of them! Because we've never been in this place.

The brand it seems is not strong enough to fight against such abysmal win totals. Management needs to be shaken up.
