No. Targaryens can have black hair or brown hair. Aegor Rivers, the son of Aegon IV Targaryen, had black hair. They also can have purple eyes (In the books Daenerys does) which they nixed from the show completely because of the trouble of wearing purple contacts or having to CGI in eye color every single frame.
Great episode. I was alomst done with this show halfway through season 5. I have suffered through a lot of bad episodes, and the last two have more than rewarded me for it. Agreed with basicaly all the above posts, especially concerning the music and Lyana - she's fantastic! What I'm wondering though is this - how huge of an army does Danny need to fight the Lannisters? Are you kidding me? Is there a battlefield bigh enough to fit in all the armies she and her allies seem to be assembling?
Amazing episode, one of the best ever for GoT. The beginning sequence at Kings Landing with the epic music was captivating, and the ending with the corination followed by the fleet sailing westward perfectly ended this season and absolutely hyped next season. I'm guessing season 7 is basically everyone versus Cersei, and season 8 is everyone versus the Night King. The worst part is we now have to wait almost a year for the next episode...
I know everybody loves Dany's fleet, Cersei burning her enemies and all but i just loved the most "random" things... the library and Bran at the same weirwood tree, John and the others NW man took their oath
Sam in the library was definitely pretty cool. It seemed kind of out of place, but I still loved it. I also loved just the idea and creativity of the library.
Except that these people at the library who are supposed to be experts at everything didn't even know there was a new Lord Commander or that the previous maester had croaked.
Comment I read somewhere "I'd jumped out a window too if I was Tommen. His hot wife was just killed!"
Rewatched the season finale again and one scene stood out for me. Its the Dany and Tyrion scene, the framing the use of height and what not on top of the acting and lines were just amazing.
Finally, Tyrion found someone who doesn't despise him or look down upon him but actually values his opinion...and more importantly it's a person he actually respects and admires. And Dany finally found a friend and confidant (an equal if you will, ignoring titles) that isn't either her servant (Missandei) or one of her soldiers (Grey Worm, Jorah, Daario, etc)
Theory. Not really a spoiler, but a random thought I had. Spoiler So this may be a theory that has been around (I have never read it), but I thought of it so I thought I'd post it here. I have only read the first 2 books, so if there is something preventing this or if I'm wrong about details, let me know. Since John appears to be the Prince that was promised and Azor Ahai was only able to bring about Lightbringer (sword) by driving it through his true love's heart, what if Dany and Jon fall in love and Dany sacrifices herself to bring about Lightbringer? Jon drives his Valyrian steel sword through her heart to save the realm?
Spoiler The Targaryens have a lot of incest in their past like traditional royal families in our world...keep them bloodlines "pure" and all that jazz. But an aunt bumping uglys with her nephew? That barely counts as incest in Westeros. Besides, they never knew each other, so if Jon and Dany don't find out his lineage until later...the deed may already have been done.
