very interesting. butler is the lower end of what i'd want from a #2 of this particularly high profile, though. still, established all star vet, still pretty young, checks most boxes.

exciting stuff though... I mean I like Ingram but with Jimmy around some premier FAs will not be hard to convince to come.

I wouldn't put any stock into that rumor. If it's not coming from Stein or Woj, be skeptical.

Either way, I wouldn't part ways with Ingram's ceiling for Jimmy Butler...great quality player on both ends, but enough to pull in FA? idk...

Butler is established but the size and skill of Ingram is not something to look away from IMO. Of course, he's green around the gills...the potential is exciting.

Yeah I'll buy it when we make the trade, but that one is veeeeery iffy to me. I love Butler, but I'm not sure I trade the #2 pick for him. I would have to feel really good about getting Durant to make that move.

I know I was on board with it before, but after seeing Ingram and Simmons up close I'm much more hesitant. If it was #3 I'm all over it, but nobody wants the C Bags' #3 pick so its a moot point.

John Ireland throwing out Ariza as a potential target for the Lakers? Apparently his name is being thrown out as "available on draft day." Not sure if that rumor has legs to stand on, but I'd love that if the price was right.

correct me if I'm wrong, but i feel like i've heard enough stories of Butler's teammates not being enamored with him and his being somewhat of a diva. IMO Butler has peaked and i just think Ingram fits perfectly into what we're building. Viva Ingram!

    Trevor Ariza

    Age: 30
    2016-2017: $7,806,971
    2017-2018: $7,420,912

The above his Ariza's salary for the next 2 seasons. With the cap rising & his production, he's a steal.

    i know that's why i quoted your post :Magic2:

i don't dislike Lou and don't want to dump him for nothing, but his ballstopping just wore on me over the course of the season. If he can play the Barbosa role that would be great, but I'd still rather have Ariza on nearly the same contract and find an adequate backup guard via FA.

I actually think it's probably easier to find a backup SF than to find a guy like Lou out there. Lou is can get us points quickly and more importantly draw fouls which gives us free throws and a way back into games.

I think Lou is going to be really fun in a new offense. Keep him in mind for late picks in fantasy leagues!

I'm cool with this post. I don't agree with it, but we're close enough to the end that we can move on to more productive stuff. I respect the hell out of you, and this is a fair place to simply disagree and both be reasonable.
