What weird report :D Especially since Thon was in high school last year? Falsified documents... weird.

I'd take him at #32 if Bembry is off the board. Decent project big we can stash in the D-League.

You don't see the relevance of looking at more recent seasons to figure out if a player is all star caliber? He's been 15.6/5.7 the past two. I already gave you the numbers in how many all stars have made it with those numbers. The answer is a lot. 38 if you look at just Guards on bkref. I'm not sure what you expect that to show. Conley's per 36 numbers are almost unchanged from two years ago. He's averaging more assists in fewer minutes, turned it over at a career low rate. Best foul rate, same rebounds per game. Are you looking only at his points? He even shot better from three and the line.

I could let you define a role player. I didn't say a role player could be good at only one or two things. I said you could do that or be a bench player. Conley is neither of those things. It's why I think Odom wasn't a role player either.

Kanter finished just behind Boogie in all star voting. This means that many see him as a quality player, approaching all star level. One caveat, which applies also to Boban (who's incredibly good; ask people who have watched him): minutes and starts. Conley is a starter at 32+ mpg. Kanter was at 1 start and 21 mpg. Easy to hide weaknesses. Boban played 508 minutes.

I don't know why you'd try that line of argumentation. No one uses stats as ignorantly as you're suggesting I am.

On my phone. If I've missed anything, please let me know.

I am not suggesting ignorance. You are THE stat guy on this board, and I respect/appreciate your input as many other members do.

However, I don't put much weight on PER. If I did, it would mean Lebron > Kobe for their entire careers and I know that's not true.

Obviously there are different levels of all-stars. First comes the upper echelon superstars that put up 30+ pts like Kobe or Durant. Then the perrenial allstar group with 20/10 or 25/8 like CP3 or Melo. Below that are the 2 or 3 time allstars like Marc Gasol and Ginobili. Then there are the one-timers like Ron Artest and Iguodola. I think Odom is on that level too. He should have made it at least once.

As for Conley? He's a step or two below that level. I don't question your stats and there may be 30+ past allstars with 15/6 averages, but quite frankly they don't deserve to be called stars. They are just good players. A star needs to special at something. Not just good/decent at a few things.

Gimme gimme gimme. I like him as a Biyombo/Ezeli type that should be half the price. Some injury concerns, but a good backup Center.

I'm not on the Conley bandwagon. I really like his game and think he would make us a better team, but I'd rather focus on SF and C and continue developing Russ and Clarkson at the guard position. We could definitely find enough minutes for all 3, but I think the most realistic big free agency splash we can make will be Westbrook next season.

I'd prefer to focus on other pieces, show some improvement this year and possibly give Westbrook a good reason to come home to LA in 2017.

I'd love to add Hawes and the 22nd pick, but this just isn't how Mitch operates, and I feel like we've seen this scenario so many times over the years.

There will be no deals that add salary till free agency (unless it's for an All Star player) IMO.

I like our odds of landing FAs against Philly and Brooklyn.

not coincidentally: three worst teams in league.

a bit surprising to me. wonder what they're looking for. maybe they're worried about having to pay him when his deal's up? i've never been a huge ibaka fan, but right now, he's a bargain on his deal.

There is a guy on LG who says the sources that this rumor is coming from are nbalegion and nba central; both notorious for making things up.

Probably not a popular opinion, but I'd honestly rather just roll the dice on Ingram than get Butler, especially if we had to give up any other assets.
