I think it's extremely sensitive topic to broadcast stuff about one's health if we picked them or not.

I'm sure not being associated with that type of rumor true or not is important to any class organization. Poor judgment on my part, sorry.

But seriously, I really like Simmons' talent, but a seeming lack of competitiveness at times, as well as multiple reports of him coming off as entitled are a bit concerning. Does he want to be great enough to spend hours upon hours working on his jumper? I don't know. As someone who enjoys watching greatness, I hope he has it in him, but I think it's fair to at least question it based on what we've seen/heard from him up to this point.

I would think the assumption there is based in attitude. Heard some stat the other day about #1 picks or top picks that never made the NCAA tournament and it wasn't a good one. This is a new era of course, great prospects can come from overseas, skip college and play overseas, or until recently, come straight from high school. I think Simmons is going to be great, but I think it's fair to question his drive to win or killer instinct based on what we saw at LSU. He obviously works hard as he put on 20 lbs of muscle since the college season ended, but depending on his drive he could be a LeBron type, or he could be a Michael Beasley. And don't call JSJ "Shirley".

Oh and just to be fair, Ingram could bust as well, nothing is guaranteed. He could be a Durant type, or Tayshaun Prince.

Simmons is "trusting the process" like one Mr. Sam Hinkie on his Instagram. It's 100% confirmed at this point he's the #1 pick. He's going to be a good player next year for many years, but I truly think Ingram can be better. I'm not just saying that because Ingram is who we'll likely get, I'm saying it because of all the skills Ingram brings to the table along with his mindset and work ethic.

It's the right choice for the 76ers. Simmons could be an incredible player and after all of the hype he received there's just no way Philadelphia can pass on him.

That's fine for the Lakers, since Ingram fits better and also has incredible potential and as others have said less of a chance of being bust (although that comes at the cost of a lower ceiling IMO).

EDIT: I'm just hoping Mitch doesn't try to surprise us again, which honestly I don't see happening this time around when the top two stand out far beyond the rest (unless a trade happens on draft night).

Not picking ok4 was the right choice even with ok4 rookie sesson success philly is having hard time getting the value they want for him, supposedly teams with top 5 pick arent even interested

I agree that Okafor was underwhelming as the season went on. In fact, I do feel Russell could turn out to be the right choice now that Walton has arrived and he can flourish under a new system.

It was still a shock to see the Lakers pass on Okafor, but this time around I don't see Mitch and the front office surprising us again when there are clearly two top prospects above everyone else.

Sounds like we need a "Welcome Brandon Ingram" thread already.

I bet we pick Ingram and Mitch reveals that Ingram was actually #1 on their board and all the other prospects we brought in we're just a formality for future scouting.

Apparently Noel for #3. I love it for Philly. Absolute no brainer. That can't be all it is, though.

I agree completely. If Philly gets #3 for Noel that's a damn steal.

Rumor is Ingram has been #1 on our board from the beginning. Woj reported that a while back and repeated it a week ago or so. Ingram is just a damn near perfect fit for what we're doing. He can pass, shoot, defend multiple spots (in time obviously I don't expect that day one). Damn. We're in such a good spot.

I've got to take a breath and still be patient though. Who knows? The Lakers might still do something crazy.

Did not know Woj reported Lakers had Ingram at #1 even once. Was those instances posted on LB?
