Why would they make major changes, they won 73 games? They were 1 1/2 minutes from a title. They were a not suspended Green and healthy Bogut away from probably winning in 5, this is just a silly idea. Improve if you can, but you don't need to make major changes to a team that can win 73 games.

I don't know... it'd be cool to have him here and another superstar to put LA back to the top. Probably give us a ring or two before he calls it a career and go make Space Jam movies every year (and have us past the C Bags in the process, which in the end is ultimately all that matters... But... I just don't see him doing it having to deal with the enormous shadows of past Laker greats (and we have a TON of 'em) and not dictating the rest of his career on his own terms. Isn't that why he bolted from Miami? Cuz he couldn't be bigger than Riley?

I'm also fine with a youth movement, which I have been looking forward to since drafting Randle with the #7 years ago.

I'm fine either way. Leaning more towards youth movement with Luke only because I just really don't see James coming here and dictating his own terms as he usually does (and want to), plus I'm more excited of what a young core of Randle-Russell-JC and now Ingram can do growing up together.

But we'll see though. Mitch is still in possession of a magic wand.

We should go into FA (after stretching Nick, Bass opt out, waive our rights to Kelly, Sacre, and Huertas) with only about 32 million on our books. That leaves us with about 62 million to spend.

Say we sign LeBron and Durant each to max contracts that's only another 58 million. We'd technically still have another 4 million or so to spend before we even have to deal with Clarkson or Tarik. You can slide in a ring chaser there at a position of need (Center).

Or you package off one or two of the young kids and clear some space/get a good player in return. There's some avenues there where the Lakers could build a contender for both of them while still keeping some young guys to build around. It's a possibility if those two are willing to come here.

If we HAVE to sign Lebron in order to get Durant, do we really jump on that grenade? ;)

The amount of respect I gained for how LeBron (notice I put some respec on his name by spelling it right now) played this finals series makes it less disgusting in my mind, but no, I still don't want him on this team.

I'd love to help Durant build an empire of evil here. I'd really not want to watch LeBron be part of it.

Probably even with unknown nuances to what the future held with the 2015-2016 NBA season .... Jim was quoted saying, "it's going to happen fast". Having Brandon freaking Ingram ..... errrr....whoever (Hi Travis :) )(wrong but sounds better maybe) .... Mitch,Ryan, Luke and Jimmy decide to draft/deal at 2nd position in the draft ... DOES NOT SUCK.

IF (BIG IF) LBJ can convince Durant and Whiteside to LA, and each agrees to a 20mil per year deal to form a superteam, I can force myself into supporting him. Simply put: team above player, no matter how much I hate LBJ.

I mean, I don't like the guy, but how doesn't that team win?

    Russell/Rodgers
    Clarkson/Roo
    Durant/Roo
    James/Roo
    Whiteside/Roo

I completely agree. The numbers on Barnes are clear. It's not just the playoffs. He just doesn't look like anything close to a max player. His awful playoff performance just highlighted his flaws. If he can't perform with Steph and Klay and all the great looks he gets I don't see him doing much here.

i think the issue is that bogut and iggy aren't getting younger, so they need to think about either a) replacing them now or b) making moves to enable themselves to adequately replace them later. once curry gets paid, it's going to get harder to fill out the roster. right now, they have three starts on below market contracts; the time to add to it is now, imo. that could mean dumping bogut and iggy and trying to get durant or horford whilst re-upping ezeli and barnes after they helped to tank their value.

as i said earlier in the playoffs, gs's roster outside of their top 3 wasn't all that impressive, especially the bench. as we laker fans know, once you start winning and having to pay the role players, it gets harder to fill out the roster.

Imagine this.... it's crazy to think of but what if.... lakers one draft Ingram play him at sg.

    Sign LeBron and Durant

Trade randle and jc for demarcus...

    Druss
    Ingram
    Durant
    LeBron
    Demarcus

Now that my friends is one evil team. I'd love it only bc I'm a lakers fan first before any individual

There are other players I'd rather trade Randle and JC for than Cousins. Lesser players that aren't head cases. And I don't think we trade JC. With this pipe of Lebron and Durant coming here, JC is probably the most "ready" to contribute to their window. Ingram and Randle are probably gone. For who? I don't know. That's where we may see a move for Butler.

From what I've read the Kings are 100% certain not to trade DeMarcus. Also I find it doubtful Clarkson would accept a sign and trade if he knew Durant and LeBron were coming here.

There is a scenario though where maybe you trade Randle/Russell or Randle/Ingram to Chicago for Jimmy Butler. Maybe, maybe, maybe you could package Ingram, Randle, and Russell to get back George, but I doubt it.

You could end up with though:

    Clarkson
    Butler
    Durant
    James
    Noah? Some ring chaser.

Good lineup. It's fun to pretend. :D

    I'd prefer though:

    Russell
    Clarkson
    Durant/Ingram
    James/Randle
    Who cares

I think Ingram and Randle would be enough for Butler. That leaves us with your second lineup. But man, not sure Russell is a great fit with Lebron. They both need the ball in their hands a lot. I worry about Russell becoming disinterested.

I worry about LeBron's hair plugs if they were suddenly to reject. We'd be back to those crazy head band Photoshops starting behind his ears. What?? You wanted an intelligent response from me about LeKing?? LOL. OK, sorry. He really did play well and with heart in this series, while being allowed by Silver to beat the hell out of tiny Steph Curry with no fouls or charging calls when they were warranted.

But I tell you what. I am warming, the Lakers wh**e that I am .....to LeBron looking at us and pulling KD. Yeah, I'd not like it on principle because I'm not an LBJ fan. For the first minute or two while the news sunk in ....... but then oh Hell Yeah ..... Lord/King/Emperor LeBron....... whatever you prefer ..... Sir! Lakers2015 ya got me.
