That's good. So, make up your mind quickly, Durant; let's proceed with our offseason, please, Mitch.

He knows how to run the offense. Does Nantz become expendable if we sign him? He has plenty of tread on the tires left.

I don't see any situation where we dump Nance unless it's an add on in a bigger trade where we get a star. Nance is just waaay too valuable at his production and current salary. For the next 3 seasons he is scheduled to make 1.2 million, 1.3, and 2.3. Are we going to find a backup pf with his level of production for almost the league minimum?

i like david lee as a backup 4/5. i don't think it would mean nance is out. if anything, that's a great guy for him to learn from. very similar profiles coming out of college, imo.

I'm not sure Lee can play the 5 for a lot of minutes. He can step in there for a few minutes, but he has some left in the tank. Is he going to want to be a 3rd string pf and (at best) a second string center? Him being a "player/coach" type guy is intriguing, but is that something he wants? I would think Lee wants more playing time on a contender.

At this stage I'm guessing he wants to go somewhere more competitive than LA. I'd take him for a reasonable price and use him as a guy who can teach Julius and Nance Jr. what it means to work hard and make the right plays. He can be the Brandon Bass kind of guy on the team I suppose, but he's certainly not high on my priority list. In fact I might prefer Bass back instead of Lee.

not that i'm terribly invested in the lee to la scenario, but i think he just wants to play. he got his title with gs, and i believe he said he liked playing in dallas. he wants a role, and i think he could have one in la. but yes, it's roughly the same as bass's. lee probably fits luke's philosophy a bit better, though.

Here's a link to KD's exit interview complete with a transcript. I've got to say after listening to him talk, he seems like he genuinely doesn't know what he wants to do this summer. There's a particular quote when asked about whether he'll talk to Russell Westbrook about the decision:
Sounds to me like he has seriously considered leaving. To where, I don't know but it sounds like he's genuinely thought about leaving even if he decides to stay.

^I'm sure it has crossed Durant's mind... In the end though, I believe he would stay. Durant has never come across as a "me first, look at me" personality.

OKC isn't beating GSW. Cleveland isn't beating GSW. So, why not team up this summer in LA? There would be tons of ring chasing vets with plenty of tred left on their game to join for less than market value.

    Russell/ring chaser
    Clarkson/Lou
    Durant/Ingram
    Lebron/Randle
    Ring chaser/Black

Depending on the growth of the youngins, that team gives GSW a legit run. If we make it out of the west, holy cow is the east a joke now. Guaranteed sweep in the finals.

Instead of needing a ring chasing back-up PG, Clarkson can take that role and we'll get Wade to fill in the starting SG spot.

Well, Horford will be the Ring Chasing center...I'm confident he will take a David West deal and sign for the minimum. We will sign Wade to a reasonable 3 million dollar deal.

Agreed. I think the best action for him is to stay there for the 1+1, but the interview really made it seem like either he'd put zero thought into this summer or he's put thought into potentially leaving this summer for parts unknown.

I read somewhere that Durant can make an extra 100 million if he waits another year, then signs max as a 10yr vet? Can't recall the exact numbers, but if true then he's signing the 1+1 this year with OKC, 100%. There's NO way someone gives up 100 million. Not a chance. He's not coming here, or going anywhere else.

It's not that much, but it's certainly a significant amount.

    My prediction:
    OKC - 95%
    BOS - 3%
    GSW -2%
He's signing that 1+1 and waiting to see what is up with Russ.

I saw an article today suggesting a trade of Russell + #2 pick to Utah for Heyward + Favors. Sounds like a good trade.
