How about some love for the BADDEST duo of all time? If it wasn't for these two I openly acknowledge I would've likely never been a Los Angeles Lakers fan. Absolutely love these two and always will. I was so heartbroken when we had to split them up, but I'm forever thankful for they did for this team. For all the talk about them never getting along if it wasn't for Tim Duncan they would've won at least five championships imo. Chuck said it best the NBA is lucky they didn't like each other. Regardless though to be the only team to win back to back to back in this century is incredible. These two were incredible. Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal. Two bad, bad mother******s. Epic. Absolutely epic. I hope they use that shot when they put up Shaq's statue.
Ridiculously dominant playoffs that year, that was a duo that knew how to get it done and close the deal. Destroyed some of the best teams of that era. Kobe had arrived and was so skilled already at such a young age, Shaq was making Robinson look like he wasn't even there on defense, the whole team was a well-oiled machine. I remember Fisher pretty much couldn't miss from 3 either, every time he put it up I thought it was going in.
Crazy I still remember folks around here was saying the 2000 championship was tainted because Duncan wasn't healthy. They shut up real quick haha.
Kobe doesn't want to join the TNT crew. It would have been awesome to see him bicker with Charles and Shaq
This epic series in the West Finals couldn't help, but get me thinking of Kobe's most epic performances and clutch plays in the Conference Finals.
