The thing with Ingram is that his size is still relatively new to him. He was a late bloomer and is still adjusting to his elite length.

He'll definitely fill out over time as he matures. KD still looks flimsy for his size, it's just how these guys are.

I think Ingram currently, body-wise is comparable to what Giannis Antekotumpo was when he was 18-19 years old.

For comparison sakes, Giannis was 6'9 and 196lbs pre-draft. Ingram currently in his pre-draft measurements is also 6'9 196lbs. Their body types are identical. Giannis has gained quite a bit of muscle since being in the NBA and for the most part has filled out pretty well. I think Ingram will eventually also become the same build of Giannis once he has full time nba trainers/nutritionists on his side. For what it's worth, Giannis is currently listed as 6'11 and 222lbs. I read a interview somewhere (forgot where) that Ingram also mentioned he wants to get to around 220lbs and is eating 5000 calories a day.

But he's not lifting as much as he needs to for that kind of weight gain. He's doing almost solely cardio work and even worse (for building muscle) he's doing almost solely basketball training. Playing basketball everyday is a great way to lose weight including muscle. Right now he doesn't have the opportunity to build the kind of muscle his frame is capable of.

In that picture the young Giannis already looks stronger than Ingram. I have no doubt Ingram can put on more muscle, but I think his body type is more Durant in nature. I think it'll be hard for Ingram to look like that second picture of Giannis, but much easier to look like a modern day Durant. It's important to note that Durant is not weak for his size, he just has trouble putting on mass because his body isn't really built for that kind of muscle. His long arms and legs make him perfect for basketball, but not perfect for building muscle.

I hope physically Ingram can just look like this:

I think he's stronger than expected, but I don't know if he's much stronger looking in that picture.

That was a great read though trodgers. Thanks for posting that.

I'm so excited about drafting Ingram. He's a perfect fit for our team. I can even see him being capable of playing the 2 in certain situations. The options are limitless. However, I'd still like to bring a vet like Wilson Chandler, Affalo or Luol Deng in to allow him to grow into the position.

Some scouts say he'd be best served as a big SG at this stage in his development (basically until he puts on more muscle).

If only the entire game was played in the post. Even though I'm sure Okafor + Phily's 17th pick for our #2 is fair on paper I definitely would NOT do that deal.

I'm just not a fan of his 'overall' game.

Durant looks soft :D I hope Ingram can do better and be stronger than that. Giannis filled out nicely, a good diet, a top trainer and a smart "doctor" can do wonders ;).

i remember the same being said about durant early, but he struggled at sg. not fast enough to play it on d. i think ingram, like durant, is a sf, and only a sf. okc even hesitates to shift durant to pf in smallball lineups. they make sure he's not going to have to mess with a bull.

Why did his parents allow a teenager to get multiple tattoos... I mean those are a lot for a kid.

I think Ingram can play SG in this system basically because there is no SG in the system we're about to run. It's about being in the right place and most defensive lineups switch constantly. I actually think Ingram can play a small-ball PF down the line when we eventually try to make our "lineup of death". He's pretty fearless and has a decent feel as a weak side defender.

I would like to believe he can gain weight. He is definitely not a lost case.

I remember last year he was 170 lbs...then gained 20 pounds within 10-12 weeks.

    Ingram in high school

You can definitely see a transformation there. And he is still growing into his body.
