To me both players are franchise players and game changers, both will improve physically and shooting wise, i see a win win for us whether it's simmons or Ingram, but please Mitch don't get cute and draft Bender. We need proven collegiate talent not a potential project. If Mitch and Jim are really looking to win soon since Jim has a ultimatum then draft Ingram or Simmons, or at least trade the pick for an all star
http://www.draftexpress.com/article...BA-Pre-Draft-Workout-Video-and-Interview-5516 Good interview. Nothing groundbreaking, but the kid carries himself well and answers questions intelligently. He stumbled a bit on that last question though, you know he's lying.
It's from the hated ones, but it is a cool way to see into what an average person looks like doing these drills compared to an NBA player.
Ben Simmons is going to be 20 before Ingram is 19. I'm trying really hard to be good with taking either, but dammit, I like Ingram more. Hoping Simmons goes 1.
We're all getting greedy Given where we were before the lottery, I'm good with either. Although I must admit that if we draft Simmons, FA acquisitions would become trickier.
current roster becomes trickier. again, it's ok, but ingram's just a natural fit. i fear the rest of the league has figured this out, though. we're probably going to get towns-ed here. once again: it's ok. simmons can ball, and is close with one of the lakers' young core.
I'm not trying to be greedy lol. I just see perfect fit and so much potential in Ingram. It's not like I'm gonna be pissed if we get Simmons, I'm still thrilled we get to take one of them. Now, if we get "cute" and take Bender, my pissed level might shoot up, but if some crazy red flags appear with Simmons or even Ingram I guess, and we take one of the rest of the assumed top 5, or trade the pick, I'll probably understand a bit more.
I don't think we get Towns-ed here. I think Ingram is right for us because our team has great makeup already. Ingram is not just multi-talented but a great fit. In Philadelphia they need transformation. Okafor, by choice or by talent level, wasn't that guy for them last year. Embiid may never play. They've got a Euro coming over who is supposedly talented, but who actually knows? For them I think the right choice is Simmons. He's got the tools to be a transformational player in this league. He's got the kind of difference making size and athleticism that can change the franchise around. I'm not saying Ingram ISN'T that because I think he can be, but his path there is a little steeper even if he can shoot better than Simmons.
^Simmons also provides them with playmaking, which they don't really have at any position. IIRC, they were upset when we picked Russell last year because they needed a playmaker.
Good point. I think Ingram would be good for them, but I think Simmons is perfect for them. I think Simmons fits them really well for what they need and Ingram fits perfect for what we need.
Yeah we screwed them over when we took D'Angelo last year. They're considering moving Okafor already. If they take Simmons, last year's draft could end up being a WIN on so many levels
Or trading down to one of those spots and getting additional assets. ....IF Jim has to win now. If they change their mind, all bets are off, but no 19 year old at 165lbs will help you get there. Taking Ingram, assuming he's available, may = no job for Jim. WWKD?
