To be fair he was talking to his teammates. His teammates were asked about him and they told the press.

Sounds like a toxic environment when you have teammates sharing personal information.

    Oh wait....

I picked up biyombo on my fantasy team when valanciunas went down early in the season and his stats were very impressive. I feel like he's been ballin all year long when given the minutes. I just think this is the first time most laker fans have seen it

I can't disagree with that. However, after the incident last year with Russell and Nick, I'm convinced that we need a vet who has the leadership skills necessary to teach these young guys how to be professionals. I believe our team is now turning a corner and a good vet like Noah would aid in the development of our core. When he does play, he plays hard, with emotion, and never takes a play off; I would prefer a 2-3 year deal with an option somewhere in there and something that benefit both the Lakers and Noah. If he's looking for a payday, then forget it.

If Noah is on board then I'm confident Walton and his staff will manage his minutes. More minutes for Black too or Bass if he re-ups. As far as another option, I don't think Biyombo will stay in Toronto with Valenciunas there and the money that will go to DeRozan. Unless of course, Raptor management can convince him to take less money to retain their core, more minutes off the pine and make another run to The Finals in the relatively weak East.

Why don't the Lakers go after both Biyombo and Noah?

Getting just one of them will still have me concerned about our center position, but if we got both of them (assuming we can somehow work out contracts for the both of them to fit under the cap...), it could kind of give peace of mind of the shortfalls of both players. You sign both and get them to split minutes at center at 24minutes per game a piece.

This may preserve Noah's body by playing less minutes, easing the concerns of injury.

Biyombo scares me because he's going to get a big contract and I'm not sure he can play this way consistently. So if he's having an off night, you limit it by having Noah come in for him.

The wildcard is I'm not sure what Noah would command in free agency salary to make this work. I'm thinking anywhere from $7 mil to $15 mil. If it's on the lower end I really think we can get both

^^^ Because then we'd have 30-36 million dollars tied up in the least important position in modern basketball?

Noah and Ezeli as a back-up...if we have to go the economy route?

I'm fine with Black as a backup, and maybe a project 7 footer with the #32 to replace Sacre. I dunno, I don't see the C position as super important for us other than defense and rebounding.

I still want Whiteside. Biyumbo is definitely creeping up for me. The center position isn't what it used to be, but there is still great value in having some one who can defend the paint, defend the pick and roll and switch on occasion, as well as gobbling up rebounds, with someone like Whiteside you get someone who does all that plus is a great pick and roll player on the other end. Biyumbo doesn't offer that, but he's probably more consistent defensively overall and not as much risk involved.

Is Channing fry a free agent after this year? He'd be a good backup as a stretch 4-5 for our type of offense

I really hope we give Dudley a long look. Perfect 3/4 bench player for this team. Veteran, strong locker room presence, respected guy around the league, can hit the 3 at a very nice clip, and he's a decent passer.

    Absolutely perfect fit for us.

He's a Laker hater, and I take it that matters to many within the organization.

dudley can get his fat a** right outta here.

anyway...i like noah, but i'd have to have money left over for a backup, given his fragility. i'm a pachulia fan, and i don't mind mozgov, either. retain black as the change of pace backup c. i imagine sac should look to unload koufos, given that cousins is a c and cauley stein will have to play most of his minutes there, too.

back to noah, i think he'd like to play in a big city, and i think he'd like to start. i also think he'd be willing to take slightly less money to do those things, which means la has a shot at getting him on a reasonable deal. this is all armchair psychology, btw. oh wait, i'm a real psychologist...

    still.

He said he doesn't think players wanna play with Kobe at this stage of his career. I hardly call that hating. I don't agree with that statement, but it's just his opinion. He'd be a solid backup 3 man here.
