I'm Team Ingram for now. There are a few things that worries me about Simmons. 1. Can't shoot - fit concerns 2. Best buddies with Russ - maturation concerns 3. Reports questioning his effort on defensive end - perhaps nitpicking Other than that he's much stronger, much faster, much more athletic, and a better passer/rebounder than Ingram. I'll probably flip-flop daily.
I thought it was a joke, so I was kidding. I couldn't care less how many tattoos this kid has. Everyone wants Durant, but his torso is FULL of tattoos. I'm 98% sure he left them off his arms and neck for marketing purposes.
Last year was really divisive in part because of a difference in philosophy among fans, but also because we needed so many things. This season we've got two major needs: SF and C. Since there's no Hakeem coming through those doors, let's go for a SF which means we're in the perfect place. I think all of us will be perfectly happy with either of these kids even if we prefer one or the other on any given day.
And because the tattoos he has are apparently not that good, like they look like they may have been done with an at home tattoo kit. I haven't looked at them very closely, so I can't comment on that.
He's not married. Don't think he ever has been. I know he was engaged to a WNBA player once, but that's over.
So it seems that we are all leaning with The Illustrated Man as he fits our team better? Simmons is touted as a better all around player but with two [maybe three] ball dominant teammates in Russell, Randle [and Clarkson] he could be a detriment? If it is Simmons, then it might not be a bad thing as we can be more versatile and more difficult to key on both individually or as a group? If Simmons drops to 2, then a dead-eye shooter is a must.
I initially thought this as well, but KareemtheGreat33 has questioned Ingram's character in at least 3 posts now because he has tattoos, sign increasingly harsh wording. So, I wanted to know what the deal is, because to claim that people with tattoos have character flaws or issues is not really funny to me. Ingram seems like a decent kid to me, he went to a great college, I fail to see why the tattoos keep being brought up.
Yeah. Kareem's comments were a bit harsh. But I still think he was joking. Like I said, I think it's also the quality of the tattoos (they're poorly done) that people are poking fun at. Lebron has tattoos everywhere, but they are well done by likely the best artists money can buy. Ingrams, looking at them, seems to be a lot of little words or scribbles. He looks a little like a cheat sheet you would use in high school.
I would draft the best player 10 times out of 10 If i had a prime Shaq, i would still go after KAT. If i had prime Larry, i would still pick Lebron etc. But that's just me. Good thing is, i'm more than ok with either one of these guys.
Yeah. It seems like there's those of us who remember life without the internet (me and you). Then there's those who remember life without color tv.
Bad teams need to find a centerpiece more than they need an absolute best fit with existing pieces. Fit is a luxury at this stage. You can shuffle pieces later to make things work, if needed (though i don't think Simmons is a bad fit anyways), but you can't just shuffle pieces to find a superstar. I believe that Simmons is the best shot at a franchise player, so that's who I hope for. That being said, I think Ingram is an outstanding consolation that I wouldn't be disappointed about at all because he also has star potential, with the convenient luxury of complementing our other pieces extremely well. I believe the same reasoning should apply to the Sixers even though Simmons is a much tougher fit for them, so I'm expecting we end up with Ingram. We win either way though IMO
