just doing his due dilligence. What were to happen if Sixers draft Simmons and in the week before the draft there is a career altering heart condition for Ingram. We have to do our homework on other players just in case.

Just yes it should be whoever Sixers don't get.

I'd have no problem taking Maker with the 32nd pick. I highly doubt he falls that far on draft night though. Draft Ingram/Simmons and Maker? No way we're that lucky.

Or are we?? Gotta admit we've been on a hell of roll since Kobe's 60pt game...

There's been tons of weird news where some teams LOVE a guy and some teams hate that same guy. I think Thon is the perfect embodiment of that. I bet there's some team in the late teens or early twenties that will love him enough to take a shot on him.

Yes, that and you never know if an unbelievable trade opportunity will fall into our laps. Highly doubt it, but always gotta keep your options open.

with all the BS this franchise has been through since the cp3 trade fiasco, i really hope we have some luck come our way in the future

securing walton as HC and getting the 2nd overall pick is a nice start

Can't wait for this draft, also can't wait to see DRuss released with this new offense and Walton having his back.

Interesting, more players aren't hiring agents. Ingram's agent is his dad right?

I would be surprised if Philly doesn't take Simmons. He can say he wants to go to LA, but he's going to go where he's drafted and play there, same with Okafor. When a player is compared to LeBron, and as versatile as Simmons, I don't see a team passing on him unless someone else blows them away in workouts.

Absolutely! I think I've settled on throwing my weight behind Ingram (though that will change roughly 500 times by June 23rd I'm sure) based on him being the SF, his great shotmaking, fluid stroke, knowledge of where to be in an offense (there's a highlight somewhere of him off ball on the elbow, once the PG runs the PnR, Ingram slides to the corner instinctually to provide a better passing angle, gets the ball and drills a contested corner 3) and the reported intangibles of "good person, hard worker, et al".

But if we end up getting Simmons, I'm all on board with that. That athleticism, the natural passing ability, the finishing at the rim. He really does remind you of year 1 LeBron (including the inability to shoot). If he gets to be year 10 LeBron remains to be seen, but I'm willing to take the gamble.

Man Ingram is so skilled. Just watched some tourney highlights. Put the ball on the floor, good handles, uses his size well, readjusts in air, obviously a great shooter, he has such a long stride just one or two steps and he's already in the lane, athletic, nice mid range game, had a couple of sweep spin moves including a nice dish to a teammate. He's just fantastic. Don't trade the kid. It's not worth it. He's gonna be great.

I love Simmons all around game, but Ingram isn't a consolation prize. I think he's gonna be really good.

The intriguing aspect is how Ingram's game will complement with Russell's as far as locations on the court and key plays. Russell can hit him on his shooting pocket where he does not have to work for his offense. Also, as far as questions about his Ingram's intensity? Reports is that the young man is smart just does not outwardly intense.

Simmons though if he is a projected transcendent talent could leave others expendable around him. Another make-over could ensue to accommodate him as the eventual face of the franchise..

^^^ My thoughts exactly.. Simmons is a stud & I'd be thrilled with him in a Laker uniform, but I don't see how Simmons & Randle both develop on the same team..

Why can't they? If Simmons and Randle both improve their jumpers I don't see any reason they can't develop together. I don't think anyone even knows what position he's gonna play. A lot project him as a 4, but he can be a 3 if he works on his shot. He has the handles and the athleticism to play the 3 spot. He can even play some small ball 5.

Honestly, if Simmons falls to us, I think we'd need to taper or expectations for him a little bit. We don't need him to be Magic Johnson. Just be the next Kobe Bryant and we'll be satisfied just fine. ;)
