Just about 7.5 hours away from the start. Keep in mind the draft lottery nearly always starts about 15 minutes after 7 pm. Either way this should be a tension filled day for the Lakers and us fans.
Ultimate satisfaction will be reached if Adam Silver puts his fingers on Laker Nation's balls tonight.
I have a feeling the NBA won't allow us to get the #1 pick, the conspiracy theorists would go nuts with that & I think the NBA is well aware of it.
The perfect day would be the Lakers getting the number 1 pick and Cleveland losing to the Raptors tonight.
Was going through my closet contemplating what Laker gear I wanted to rock today for some good luck. Ended up going with my Bynum jersey since he was our last lottery pick that ended up becoming a champion and all-star ... But also just because it's been hanging in my closet since I got it and there are rarely any opportunities where wearing it kinda makes sense.
#irony although i am a fellow conspiracy theorist... here's my most foil-helmeted take: #1 to boston: why? big, historic market, didn't tank, fleeced an nba villain in BKN (complete with Russian owner!) #2 to philly: as compensation for finally dumping hinkie's embarrassing plan and for hiring a bunch of league goodfellas. #1 would be too obvious. #3 to the lakers: they still owe them for bombing them to the stone age with the cp veto, but they don't want to deal with fan backlash for a lakers #1 in a year when they could lose the pick.
Conspiracy theories are fine. In 2008, the Bulls got Rose with a 1.7% chance. 2003 needs no introduction. People won't care after a week. Give us the damn pick.
the league still owes us for the cp3 BS if we do end up with #1 of course there will be people crying because it's the lakers and they'll say the league is purposely giving us #1 to make a big market competitive again but to be quite honest, the cavs winning the lottery 3 times in 4 years (and of course the lebron sweepstakes) is 10x more conspiracy worthy than if the lakers win it one time
