I just don't see it with Manon yet. He's OK ..but he's not giving me potential rotation player vibes.
No 2-way should. He does have the traits you look for in a guard to backup Luka/AR. Very strong defensively and able to hold his own offensively. Training camp will do wonders for these guys, practicing against top competition and then carry those learnings to the g-league. He's another 2 years from becoming a rotation player, if he gets there. That's the type of 2-ways I want
I like Manon's effort, him and Kaluma are the closest two ways on the Summer League team. Don't know that either make the main team though.
Fun first half again, we’re a fun team to watch, we play some really good defense. Thiero almost got taken out on a dunk attempt though, glad he’s ok. He needs to start taking some outside shots though, he’s not going to be able to just drive and dunk in the real league, need to add that outside shot to keep the defenders honest and allow those drives. These teams seem to not like eachother though, some physical play and trash talking. Kaluma stepped in for Adou when he got that dangerous foul, played a bit of enforcer, got a tech, I liked it honestly. Mañon, Carr, Adou, Kaluma, Watson all playing well though. Would really like to see Kaluma added to a 2-way before it’s too late and someone else does.
I suppose beating Clippers at any level is a good thing. Manang or whatever his name is leading us in Rebounds as a guard? I don't love that.
Kaluma still feeling it tonight It'd be nice to have a better passer on the court cause he had 3 nice dives/cuts that either went unnoticed or the guard just didn't have the ability to make that pass. Liked Kyle's 14 minutes. 7 boards, his usual high motor and he got his swat game going with 3. I've been underwhelmed with that aspect of his game being a summer league no show until tonight because of his college stats, tape and rep, but finally delivered. I'll give credit where it's due, Okereke looked better tonight especially in the 1st Q. Things were simplified for him and he hit some 3s. Defense was dicey on the perimeter, they got by him basically every time. He recovered on some, others not so much. Still hate his game. What else... Hickey had a flat game. Suder actually out performed him tonight. The team as a whole has been a lot of fun. They get up and down the court, really get after it defensively. Biggest issue is lack of a lead guard but they still manage. Our best crew since the baby Lakers and most of that crew went on to have pretty successful NBA careers.
Manon is a great rebounder. He had 8 in the previous game. I like that about him, it's a nice secondary skill on a guard. The Spurs guard rooks have it too and it helps them. It allows them to start the transition quicker, as they grab the board, do a couple dribbles and they're already ahead at least 2 opponents. Love to see this team having a defensive identity. Great stuff
