You're right on both, nobody is saying that, and it's not the same thing. I have said I don't get why Kobe doesn't play 7 or 8 minutes to start the game, come out, come in a little sooner in the 2nd, then repeat this formula for the 2nd half. If you brought him out after 8 minutes in the 1st and 3rd put him in with 8 minutes left in the 2nd and 4th, unless I'm horrible at math, that's 32 minutes per game.

That's pretty low even, and rigid so obviously it doesn't have to be just like that, but it's an example, and a couple minutes could be added on nights we need him more of course. He's clearly tired in the 4th at times, that shooting % reflects it, and he should not be playing 12 minute quarters, sitting a long time, then coming back in at his age, it should be spaced out IMO to keep him fresh.

    Definitely.

Hopefully with the return of Young, Byron won't feel so pressured to put Kobe in the game.

The MRI comment I made was a joke. But im not a professional doctor nor went to school for it. Nash had back problems that he hurt himself for the year by carrying luggage. Little different on Kobes case.

Heres a cool stat for some of you.

With Kobe on the floor, we're -14.5.
With Kobe off the floor, we're +4.7

Nevermind watching his minutes, lets just sit him for the entire year because were clearly better without him.

Maybe I missed a post or something but I don't recall someone saying that we are better without him. We are saying that he needs to have his minutes regulated more. He looks tired in the second half and for close games the coaching staff expects him to be able to close out the game even though he's been playing most of it.

Like you said, he's coming off rust of over a year of not playing ball yet Byron is still playing him so many minutes.

Why do you feel the need to take arguments to the extreme? Nobody said that we are better without Kobe and need to sit him for the season, that would be crazy to say because it clearly isn't true. There is no need to take an argument to the extreme, it is a poor tactic because it just annoys people and takes away from your point.

Some might argue that Byron has been given plenty of chances after being let go by the Nets 10 years ago.

Kobe's not a choker. Choking is when you have all the capacities in the world and you mentally fail. That's never been Kobe's problem. 19 seasons in the league - playing ridiculous minutes - that IS his problem.

I still don't have a clue what Byron is doing. Except if he was told to actively tank the season.

At this point I don't know what is worse, the personnel or his coaching. And that is saying a lot given the team.

So the solution was to play him 17 straight minutes in the 2nd half?

Wow. Can this quite possibly be a worse hire than MDA or Brown?
