First Byron's option isn't picked up, next we get the coach we want, and third we get the number 1 overall draft pick! That would be the perfect spring for me.
In order to be perfection And to get a slice of heaven I'd still like to sign key free agents Including some dude named Kevin
^^Nice, well I did say "spring"... summer is for free agents, and I have no idea at this point who I'd want (beside the obvious, KD and maybe the USC kid).
My perfect offseason. 1. Fire Byron - check 2. Keep the pick 3. Draft Ingram 4. Sign Whiteside 5. Sign Barnes One down, four to go. Let's go Lakers!
If we are drafting Ingram, why are we signing Barnes? We would be in full youth mode so we might as well give Ingram all the minutes. If we draft Buddy Hield, then Barnes makes a lot of sense since I think Clarkson is actually a 6th man and not a starter. Russell-Hield-Barnes-Randle-Whiteside
DeRozen has fallen waaaay off in my eyes. He was already a little questionable because of his lack off 3 point range. With the way he's sort of wilted up and died in these playoffs, a max deal for him is starting to seem downright stupid.
Hmm good question but we need 2 SF's at the very least and accumulating talent at that spot is not a bad idea.
Yeah I don't mind signing Barnes and drafting Ingram...those guys can play and guard multiple positions so it's not redundant to have both. We need versatility in the worst way and those 2 can give us that. I know people are down on Derozan....but he's still going to get a max offer from somebody. He's not first on my list...but he should still be considered. Plus maybe he actually wants to play for us? I want guys that WANT to be here.
His play has left a lot to be desired so far in the playoffs, but I don't see us passing on DeRozan if we can grab him. And if we are being fair, Harrison Barnes is playing worse against the Rockets than DeRozan is.
Had to look it up. Now keep in mind that these guys have very separate roles on their teams but... Derozan: 13.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals, 0 blocks, 3.3 turnovers, 34 minutes, 29.6% FG, 0% 3PT Barnes: 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.3 blocks, 0.5 turnovers, 29.8 minutes, 27.5% FG, 23.1 3PT Barnes is 3/13 from deep. Demar is 0/9 from deep. Yikes.
