Big Game said he sees a lot of himself in Randle and I suppose I can see that. Worthy was nowhere near as strong as Randle is though. Worthy was a little craftier and smoother around the basket, but he was also older when he got into the NBA. I think Randle has a better handle. I think James might have been a more natural rebounder even though Randle is bigger. Then again I'm remembering James as a multi-year pro so I'm inherently biased... I think there's some similarities there offensively though. They both work well out of the high post. James was able to blow past a lot of his defenders just like Randle will do. James was pretty good in the post just like Randle is. Defensively neither is great, but both are good. Yeah I guess I see it. But James was a SF more than a PF.
You think Randle starts next year? I hope we can get a starter on a rookie contract to allow us to use every last dollar in free agents.
I hope so, the way things are looking, though we fight and flash potential at times.. We could end up with the top 5 pick who can possibly be a starter(gives us HOPEFULLY 2 players on rookie contracts that start), and Houstons 1st+2nd round picks for further young depth/players to groom.
Great to see the kid smiling, (no crutches?), having a good time, cannot wait to have him back next season.
I'm glad he got the chance to feel loved coming back to Kentucky to visit. Great moment and like many of said, can't wait to see him back in Purple & Gold.
Welp, another draft pick from Randle's class out for the year. You gotta feel terrible for Jabari Parker...looked like he was going to the playoffs this year too.
