Hield is absolutely the real deal. Definitely would give him a long look with the third pick. We have greater needs and I completely understand if we took someone else but he is big time.

He has had the outbursts Ingram has lacked. Still, I'm not thrilled by how he scores. Aren't 60% of his shots threes? He won't get those looks in the NBA. At least not for a few seasons.
I was reading a little of GT's commentary on the players; he loved Russell last year and his mocks have been almost right on for the most part. Great eye for talent. This was is take on Buddy Hield I actually spent a good deal of time watching footage of Hield a couple of days ago, and came away very impressed with him as a scorer. Sometimes, you wonder if a senior is dominating 18-19 year olds with physicality, but he has a great deal of skill within his scoring repertoire, showing the ability to run the PnR, spot up, pull up, and drive to the basket while finishing with either hand. Very polished offensively. I don't think he's in the mix at #3, but he should be able to score in the NBA from Day 1. Takes on B. Ingram. Against my better judgment, I've been watching more and more of the top guys. Today I spent a while watching Brandon Ingram. He's going to be more of a contributor off of the ball at the beginning of his NBA career than he will be on the ball. He has some on ball skills, but his handle is a little loose and he gets bumped off balance too easily right now. The latter part will change as he gets stronger, but that's gonna be an issue for at least the first couple of years. He's also a bit predictable, as I noted when I watched him against UNC earlier in the year. If he drives left, he's likely shooting a pull up jumper, and if he drives right, he's probably trying to go to the rim, where he shoots a lot of contorting shots that are unnecessary considering his length. He has a nice jumper off of his jab step, but defenders are going to crowd him and not respect is drive at first. Off of the ball though, he's a very good spot up shooter and has a decent feel for cutting. I love his activity. When a guy with a 7'3" wingspan likes to mix it up, he can make a lot of positive things happen. Defensively, he's pretty versatile, able to contribute on the perimeter and by challenging shots down low. He's a little prone to falling asleep on boxing out though. He'd fit in well in LA, not only because he's a SF (for now), but because Russell, Clarkson, and (to a lesser extent) Randle would handle a good deal of the on ball responsibilities. He's arguably the right pick, but he's also the long term pick. I don't think he's going to be an exceptional player right away.
I think most people see Ingram as a bit of a project. He's young, he's scrawny, and he hasn't dominated as a Frosh. Thanks for those reports. I think Hield is a perfectly average SG in the NBA, but I'm in the minority on that.
By the way, Paul George didn't really take off until his 3rd year in the NBA. I visualize the same path for Ingram.
Well I was going for the cheap humor being facetious. This youtube clip is first I've seen of him extended. Hell of a game. Put his team on his back and got them to the Final Four. Props where they are due. Huge stage and the kid was money. Likely has that IT / factor about him. A leader. Although he does, like someone mentioned above (sorry for not proper attribute) score by mostly shooting the long ball. Will have to defer to others about the comparison with Jaylen Brown. Next youtube stop I need to make soon.
I think trd mentioned oj mayo as the bottom-end comparison for hield, and I totally see that. except I think the thing that's held oj back (primarily) has been his head. imagine if mayo was a smarter player with more determination. I think that's likely to be hield.
I don't even like Cousins and I'd have to stop and think about that one. Top 10 pick AND Cousins for just Clarkson and the #2? Though if we're talking Hield, Chad Ford did tweet yesterday with the tour amen he's having he might not make it past the 4th or 5th pick. How do trades work with JC though, has to be a sign and trade right? Does he have to sign off? Also not sure the Kings want to help us, I can't recall a trade we ever made with them. Though Vlade is there now, so maybe the temp between the teams is a little warmer.
