I feel like the D League is where he belongs. I just don't see him earning minutes out there in the NBA. He seems merely OK. But not good.

I'd say he's not even OK. He shows nothing out there. I'm not sure what's worse: having no impact so we're playing 4 on 5 offensively or making dumb mistakes 3 times a game but still contributing some athleticism. Anthony Brown has been a disappointment. For a guy who has 4 years college experience he seems so lost. Look at Larry Nance Jr. and the poise he plays with. What the heck is Anthony Brown doing out there?

He's been incredibly mismanaged this year. Few games in the D-League, alternating spot starts and riding pine and seemingly thrown into games is just a recipe for disaster for a kid like Brown. Before the tip last night they zoomed in on him and he looked scared s***less.

Guys like Randle, Russell, Clarkson, Nance are different because you can just throw them into the fire and they respond and can play. Brown is at the opposite end of the spectrum, if you are going to get the player you hope he is going to develop into you have to cater to his psyche.

I would have had him playing in every D-League game when we were at home and had him playing in every garbage minute of the year, while playing him very minimal meaningful minutes. He needs low pressure confidence situations for year 1 and that's not how he's been handled. You see DAR with the off the chart confidence game last night and then you see Brown with zero confidence being forced to start.

IMO if he was put in the slow cooker from the start, he'd be further along in his development, but at this point he just looks lost. Not good for a player that got multiple guaranteed years.

We're not gonna hit on every pick. It's dissapointing that Brown hasn't shown much, but the guy is a second round pick for a reason. A lot of these guys end up out of the league in a few years. We still have more than enough to be excited about with D-LO, Julius, JC, and Nance Jr.

I'm not even gonna criticize anymore, because I don't know what we can expect of him with how he's been used. He doesn't play for a bunch of games, then he's a starter again for 2 games and both are a brand new offense. Then as soon as Kobe comes back he's back to DNP's. I don't know how you find your footing or get into any kind of role or rhythm that way. I've bashed him as much as anyone else here, but the way B0ron has handled him, I have no idea if he's an NBA player or not. He could be an ok backup for all I know had he gotten consistent minutes off the bench all season, or as mentioned, played in every D-League game possible all season to keep him working and adjusting. He got a 3 year deal though, right? So I hope if he's decent the next coach gets more out of him, or he's a throw in with a trade, I dunno.

What bothers me is how great he looks at times with the Defenders compared to how he looks with the Lakers. He's aggressive, takes his shots, attacks nicely. Give me just SOME of that in NBA game please. At least the aggressiveness. Don't go out there and lay an egg. You've got to take advantage of the opportunity sometime.

Honestly, his usage is stranger than anyone's - even Tarik's.

I see what you're saying, but at the same time I don't care. :D

You're given a chance to start in your first season in the NBA for a marquee franchise. You've GOT to do something with that opportunity. I saw more aggression out of freaking Darius Morris than this kid. I saw more aggression from Devin Ebanks than this kid. I'll admit his handling has been rough, but you cannot play scared and when you get these opportunities you have to take them.

A good example on his own team: Tarik Black. Whenever Tarik is given a chance to play he plays with confidence and makes an impact. Anthony Brown plays hard but it's like he's running on a treadmill. He works his butt off to go nowhere and make little impact on the game. Now we're seeing some injuries take hold and if he doesn't start making noise to end this season, I have no reason to hold on to him this summer.

I'm not defending the guy, real, I don't care if anyone else criticizes him. My point was I'm not even gonna bother doing it anymore, I'm kinda throwing my hands up like "whatever, I don't even know". I have no idea what to expect of this guy. He doesn't play for weeks, then he starts. He doesn't seem to want the ball. Sometimes he hustles on D, sometimes he doesn't, sometimes he'll shoot when open, sometimes he looks scared or invisible. I throw my hands up, I give up, I can't figure him out, I won't bother. Maybe he isn't an NBA player, but we'll probably have to find that out next season sadly, hopefully at least under a new coach.

Oh I gotcha and I see that point, I just think it's always a two-way blame street here. He needs to step up and of course Byron needs to be thrown in a pit of spikes and tigers.
