^^ i rather get rid of Boron With him out of the way, every single player on our roster will look better. I have no doubt in my mind.
I was skeptical on him from what I saw in preseason, but more so on offense with his poor shooting. Now having seen him on D in real games he is too big a liability unless it's garbage time...then again who do you get to replace him? What D league player has defensive skills that plays the point?
If you're not gonna allow Huertas to initiate the offense and we've seen no indication that'll be the case I really don't know why he's on the roster. It's embarassing how bad he is on the defensive side and the less defensive liabilities the better.
Why play Huertas with Lou if Lou is the guy running the offense. Huertas is not a shooter so the defensive a sags off him and he's hurt old on defense. If he's not running the offense then he's a liability out there and no reason to be playing. Also you gotta play him with Hibbert or Black and Nance out there to help cover the guy blowing by him.
Yep. Play him with a rim protector so that he can slide up and take away the jumper at least. He's trying to play guys honest defensively and he literally cannot.
I already said it before, but Lou and Huertas should not be on the floor together. Defensively, it's an absolute nightmare.
Wow cold blooded out here. Like it or not, Huertas is the best passer on this team. Against bad teams like the Nets he can showcase his passing ability and pick and roll prowess without being a liability on the defensive end. Great game from him and it's games like this that make him seem so valuable as a veteran presence.
I have always liked Huertas, despite his obvious shortcomings. I firmly believe that under a better coach and in a better system, those weaknesses wouldn't have been made as painstakingly apparent. He could have been a decent plug and play role player on a better squad.
With Lou being out a minimum of 1 week due to the strainined hamstring I expect Byron to play Huertas more often.
He played his a** off last night. He was running as hard as he could on D and even going down low trying to grab boards. The assists were the sweet part though of course. I don't expect much from the guy going forward, but credit where it's due. As for Lou, I'm kinda not gonna miss him for a few games. I don't really like his game, and I don't think he really fits in our best lineups. We are best when Russ and JC are together and with no Lou, they get to finish games. I like that. Maybe if B0ron wasn't here and Lou could be the quick offense off then bench in less minutes he should be, I'd like him more, but he's been overused.
Lou reminds me of a shorter version of JR Smith. He can shoot you in or out of games. He's never gonna play in a system. He never has. At this point he's what he is. Very good player coming off the bench. Good piece for a contender, but for a young team like us that's rebuilding he's gonna stunt the growth of our young players anytime he's playing with them.
