Yeah, at the beginning I was totally convinced that Sasha and Abraham were gonna die. I got so caught up in the scene I forgot that Darryl was still around. Same with Glen. The show runners have definitely succeeded in making me legitimately think any character can die at any time.
Then Glen thing in this one felt forced honestly. How many times is this guy going to die/not die this season?
Maybe the invincible Glen thing is to build up a false sense of security for him, only to have him meet his doom like he did in the comic?
Now you're talkin'. I'd be fine with that actually. It'd be a pretty cruel and the fan base would have a really hard time with it, but I could see that being in the final episode of the season.
Loved the ep. Definitely one of the best in the series. Daryl is a badass, glad he's given something more to do than drive on his bike. But there could be trouble ahead... Spoiler apparently there was a car seen driving off in the background after he blows them to bits and the speculationis that was Negan driving away. If he saw the whole thing, Daryl will meet the bat. There's a lot of sound logic behind that assumption, all of which I hate because Daryl is hands down my favorite character.
I think @Punk-101 nailed the bat thing, but definitely this news is going to get back to Negan and there will be trouble. The direction of the show though is going to twist and I love it. They're going to really make Alexandria a thing.
Spoiler: show and comic spoiler theories I think that theory has some merit because I read many of the actors comments saying how heartbroken they were over certain developments during this arc. Andy Lincoln said he felt sick to his stomach when he read the script, and it is well known that he and Norman are definitely bros. I mean I guess it could still be Glenn meeting the bat, but I think it could be Daryl's time to go. Gimple said the plot will not be completely identical for this storyline too so maybe that will be one of the divergent elements.
That was a really fun episode. At first it sort of felt like the usual TWD filler episode but apparently they figured out how to do it right. Spoiler: Stuff and Thangs I can watch a mini series of Daryl and Rick's road trip to finding supplies. These two just have an awesome chemistry between them. Wasn't really expecting Jesus so soon, thought they were going to spend an episode showing the aftermath of last week, instead they did a "couple weeks" time jump. The ending was also..... something. My favorite part(s) of the comics starts when Jesus appears so I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season. Let's see how this goes.
The actress who plays Michone actually says they jumped two MONTHS! That's definitely quite the jump. I agree I didn't really think Jesus was coming so soon. I had told my wife a while ago that Michone was going to take Andrea's role. Comic fans all probably saw that coming, but I actually enjoyed seeing it unfold. I thought it was a pretty solid episode actually. A nice change of pace after that crazy last episode. Good story telling.
Great episode. I was really happy to see them finally introduce Jesus, and he played the part well. Just like in the comics, he's like a ninja, and they conveyed that well by how he kept escaping again and again, and then finally showing up in Rick's house. I was also surprised by Rick and Michone, but I like them together. At least we know this couple won't be dying for a while.
Ok, it made zero sense why Rick and Daryl left their car instead of taking both the truck and car. There were two of them, they both can't drive? I'm also not liking the rick-michionne thing. Not sure why, seem out of place to me
They'll make more sense of it soon. Basically: they're both survivors. Rick won't need to be the guy who takes care of her. They make a couple strong enough to survive the apocalypse. The car thing... yeah that doesn't make sense.
They are following the comics almost to a tee and its going to be one fun ride. A lot of awesome lines this episode: Spoiler "your world is about to get a whole lot bigger." "Looks like s***" "When you were pouring that bisquik, were you looking to make pancakes?" "Put your weapons down!" "I don't think I will." "It'll cost us something." Maggie's whole deal talk with Gregory. "What?" (Never seen someone stab someone else in the throat?)
I'm starting to get really nervous about the introduction of Neegan. This show is playing their cards PERFECTLY right now. Build up this guy so we all know how badass he is but at the same time we believe our protagonists are almost invincible right now. Things are going to clash and it's going to be so damn epic. This is some fantastic storytelling right now.
Man, I stopped watching this show a few years ago and they go full blown religious and it turns into a show about the second coming? Talk about a twist, but I'm glad I stopped when I did now. How's that for witty, Punk? It's not? Punny? Yeah, ok you got me there.
