I am beyond annoyed at this Tobias Harris deal. This was a salary dump by the Magic, and the Lakers have once again dropped the ball in not even offering anything to Orlando. We're talking about a 2-way SF that can play both forward spots, is young, and getting better, and this was a buy low deal if I've ever seen one. Detroit just got a STEAL, and they unloaded TRASH to obtain a nice 2-way forward. Lakers management is just as responsible for the Lakers current demise as Byron Scott. This is unacceptable. You're telling me we couldn't offer Hibbert and Lou for Tobias Harris? How is that NOT a better deal for the Magic? And if the Magic are indeed trying to keep Jennings....is Jennings really better than Lou Williams? I don't believe he is.

You all know I had been pining for Tobias Harris since summer, and the fact that he WAS available and we still didn't make a move for him is shocking. I think the front office really is delusional and believes that we have a shot at Kevin Durant and they don't want to mess up our cap space by getting Tobias Harris, when in reality, we're very UNLIKELY to get anybody worth mentioning this summer....that includes, Barnes, Derozan and Batum....we'll once again be settling for crappy 1 year deals for washed up players. This was yet another missed opportunity for us.

I also expect the Lakers will do nothing at this deadline....

That's a tremendous hall for MEM, PJ Hairston is under-rated IMO and (4) 2nd round picks.... wow

Was hearing Anderson could be sent here as part of a Lou trade. Glad that didn't happen.

So the magic are spinning this as "jennings and ilyasova are veterans that will help us make a playoff push"...and if they don't make the playoffs, well, they'll both expire anyways and they'll have room to re-sign other guys like Fournier.

Well, newsflash Orlando: Jennings and Ilyasova aren't "proven vets" that are going to get you to the playoffs.

This was salary dump all the way....we should have at least offered Hibbert and trash for Harris. I'm still ticked off...

I've read that Hairston is a malcontent and that Charlotte is glad to be rid of him. I agree on the picks though.

I don't know much about how he is as a teammate, but whenever I have watched him play he's been a good defender and wasn't too shabby from deep

It's just something I read, but I like the kid's talent. He's definitely an NBA caliber player. Just looking at his situation though, there's something wrong behind the scenes I think.

Yeah, the problem with what Orlando is selling being that you have to jump 3 teams to get the 8 seed. One of those teams is......the team you traded your best (movable) asset to.

I posted this in another thread, but I'm not too upset about not getting harris. I just think he's a pf. he can't be a full-time sf. if the lakers didn't have randle to develop, I would have been angry, but this isn't an "omg missed opportunity" type deal. folks wanted him here in the summer, his team signed him then literally dumped him. it's not worth getting upset over, imo.

Rumors that Hibbert will be bought out if Lakers can't trade him.

It would make sense from a $$$ perspective, and it would also allow Roy to sign wherever he wants and maybe get a playoff run.

makes sense. I actually like hibbert and hope he can find a better team to hook on with as a backup. it's pretty clear he's not a great fit with the lakers' roster and "system". I think it would be a classy move by the lakers to let him out if he asked.

I'd snatch Stephenson up still and give him a chance to get his head back on straight.

Led the league in trip dubs in 13-14 so he's obviously got the talent, just not the mental capacity.

I wonder if we could do it for any amount of money that he'd be interested in. He might be more interested in a winner, but I like the thought of trying.
