Deadpool was awesome. I think you have to watch it twice because Ryan Reynolds is so quick and is delivering one liner after one liner, I'm sure I missed some of the jokes.

I read, that he was basicly begging for 11 years to make this movie. I'll catch it on the weekend :).

It took him 12 years to get this movie made and seriously... he IS Deadpool. The same way certain actors just ARE iconic characters, Ryan Reynolds' masterpiece is Deadpool.

    Harrison Ford is Han Solo.
    Stallone is Rocky.
    Keanu Reaves is Neo.

    Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool.

Go in expecting raunchy comedy and enjoy the ride.

Reynolds was born to play Deadpool. I don't think it's the 8.8 that IMDB gave it at the moment, but it is a solid 7 at a BARE MINIMUM. Good laughs, good action pieces, self-referential, violent, and foul-mouthed. I think it's everything you could hope to expect as an entry into the Deadpool cinematic universe, though it featured a rather two-dimensional villain in true Marvel fashion. I honestly found myself enjoying the scenes that had Deadpool with Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead the most. I think they all played very well off each other, and I don't know if that suggests that Deadpool can't stand on his own or if he's at his best when he can riff off of others. I think it's probably more likely the latter because the bridge sequence we first glanced during the trailers, was fantastic with him on his own.

I am very jazzed by the after credits scene to hear that Cable will be in the next installment. You have to think this could be a stepping stone into the X-Force universe...which could be extremely entertaining.

I think Deadpool is absolutely capable of carrying his own movie. I don't think this movie NEEDED Colossus and Negasonic as much as FOX needed to make it kind of connect in a way. Obviously he's much better when he's playing off someone else though.

This wasn't a Marvel movie really by the way. I think the one-dimensional bad guy is more a function of letting Deadpool breathe. I don't need a world-beater who is deep and intellectual with Deadpool. It wouldn't really fit anyway.

Yea, and as a pretty casual Deadpool fan, I wouldn't be able to pick out any classic "nemeses" of his anyways, if he even has any.

As for the Marvel thing, I just assumed it was. Guess it falls on the X-men side of the fence with Fox? Which would make more sense...

Yeah this is definitely a FOX/X-Men movie. There's a lot of X-Men elements in it.

I don't know if he has any real "nemesis" but I'm not a huge Deadpool guy either :D

He doesn't really have a well known villain. He kind of gets into scuffles with guys like Taskmaster and Bullseye but he's also their allies at some point.

Most of the people he kills are targets given by the people that hire him, and then they eventually get killed as well.

Saw Deadpool this morning and it was glorious. Was going to wait on it but heard nothing but good things about it. I was honestly worried about Fox having their hands on this but it was so great. I had a grin for 90% of the movie and laughed more than I ever did in recent memory.

Ryan Reynolds IS Deadpool. Right from the opening credits I realized this was going to be a fun ride. I might actually go watch it again this week. I can't believe some parents took their 10 year old to see this.

Saw Deadpool Friday night. It's sad it took Ryan 12 years to get this made. I bet Fox is really regretting that when you see what kind of money it's bringing in opening weekend and the opportunities that they've missed out on for a decade. They also shortened how long we'll have him as Deadpool. Ryan isn't old but by them piss ing away this past decade they cost themselves three films he could've been a part of. Maybe X-Force would be up and running too. Maybe X-Men wouldn't have relied so heavily on a wolverine to make them entertaining.

I loved it though. The comedy was great, the pacing and story was fun. I liked how they broke up the origin story so it wasn't your paint by numbers origin story. Can't imagine how awesome the next one will be. Now that he's an established character they'll be able to hit the ground running.

Looks great. Shane as Punisher is close to perfect, can't wait for the DD vs P dynamic this season. And we still haven't seen what they are going to do with Elektra and Bullseye.

LOVED Deadpool, but I was expecting him to sustain more damage (and heal a lot faster) than he did. Doen't he get much more messed up and heal much faster in the comics? Do you expect that to happen in the sequel?

I think in the sequel he'll be freer to take more damage as they rely less on the love story aspect and just let him do his thing.

That's good. How fast does he heal in the comics? I thought it was like a few minutes to regenrate a hand, not overnight. I figured him healing from being incinerated or chopped to tiny pieces was like an hour or two.

I'm not sure honestly. I used to follow his comics, but I gave up when they switched to a different writer and I never looked back. I remember it taking some time, but it's pretty similar to Wolverine.

Knew nothing about Deadpool. I don't think I really saw a single trailer or even really paid much attention to any TV spots. I didn't see or read any reviews, I had no idea what the Rotten Tomatoes score was. All I knew was that it was a superhero movie that was supposedly a little more light-hearted and funny, and one of my friends said we should go watch it because he had heard some good things.

It's probably right behind Star Wars for me in terms of movies I've had the most fun watching at the theaters in the past several years.
