Yeah, they're definitely shopping him quietly. They initiated talks with Boston, but apparently the asking price was too rich for Ainge's blood.

Hearing offers is one thing, but when you're making the phone calls...doubt he's a rocket next year.

I buy it. They're delusional enough to believe that bridge hasn't been napalmed, laced with c4, and then nuked. Would've loved to hear Mitch's reaction.

Lol. We shot it down probably because A) we're simply not interested or B) we could get Dwight in the summer without giving up any assets

Unless they wanna give us Dwight for Hibbert and Huertas....there's no reason for us to entertain any offer for Dwight.

Additionally, I wouldn't be opposed to getting Monroe and MCW....maybe Hibbert, Lou and Bass for Monroe, Mayo and MCW? Maybe we throw in Anthony Brown? Or some 2nd round pick?

I would jettison MCW off for a nice wing player maybe...maybe a 3 way deal makes sense here...maybe with the Knicks? They give us Derrick Williams and a future first for MCW?

Also, the Bucks are such a crappy franchise. Ugh.

He also mentions "Hortford" and hearing the Lakers, a few pages later. Wasn't a very clear sentence, couldn't tell if he meant trying to trade for Horford or going after him as a FA this summer, but I think he meant FA.

Wait guys no! Abeer said that HOWARD and HIS AGENCY reached out to the Lakers to see if they'd offer the max this summer.

    NOT Houston!

HOWARD and HIS AGENCY called Mitch and asked if he'd be willing to offer a max contract! I don't think my mind could boggle any more from that statement!

    edit- @Weezy did it!!!!!

    :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

    Oh my GAWD!

You had your chance to be a Laker and you s*** down your leg worse than Mike Brown in a 20 point game.

I'd offer Dwight the vet minimum to go shine Shaq and Kobe's statues when they're up in Star Plaza.

I don't see it. Think a convo takes place because it's home, but don't see it gaining traction cause of the team first philosophy and no fun zone. Only reason to break away from that is for a go to option in the 4th, that's not Dwight.

I think Washington is a good fit next to Wall and Beal. Big market, but low expectations. Nene, Humphries, Oubre, their lotto pick and maybe a future pick too.

Man, what I would give to have JVG on this team next year. I think he can make us great defensively even with Hibbert at center.

I think this summer you're going to see a rebranding in Atlanta. I just think Dwight has a shot of landing there given nobody else really wants him.

Washington is an interesting spot too.

well, a lot of it is probably just posturing/preparation, I just thought it was funny that la was listed as one of the teams Dwight's folks looked at. I'm glad the lakers showed no interest. enjoy your fun in Houston, clown. had you stayed in la, your image is better, you'd have the same amount of rings, and you wouldn't be looking at getting lowballed in FA this summer. eat a fat one, fer realz.

Washington would be an interesting landing spot for howard. if they can get max room (not sure if it's possible, would have to look), it would make sense to offer it, if only to give the franchise a shot in the arm in terms of publicity.

the Monroe rumor is interesting to me simply because of the odd storyline about him this summer. I still refuse to believe he declined the same offer from la to join Milwaukee (LOL if so, btw; Milwaukee isn't a good basketball team). it would be funny if they had to take on salary to move him.

A couple years ago I would have totally agreed. But JVG has not been out of the game for an awfully long time. He's been gone at a time where the game has changed dramatically. Yes, he watches in the broadcast booth, but would JVG's Xs and Os etc. work in today's NBA. His teams were always grinders.

But the Dwight stuff is great. Hassan Whiteside is this year's Dragic for me. Kept hearing all these rumors about us getting Dragic for the max. I kept saying he's incredibly overrated and to keep him away. He's a contract year player, etc. I was right on Dragic. He's averaging 12 and 5 with a PER of 13. That ain't max numbers. Heck, Russell and Clarkson are comparable or better. I hope we avoid Whiteside like some sort of plague that is worse than the actual bubonic plague. Knuckleheadedness is contagious and it tends to be chronic. Also, who on our team is going to keep him in check? You have Wade and Bosh, two well respected veterans to keep him in line in Miami. Are we going to have Swaggy and Huertas keep him in line? And that dude is going to BALLOON next season after he signs his deal, where ever it is. I know what his numbers are. They are amazing and he is great this year. But that dude is going to pull a Houdini. I'd rather trade our pick (if it lands at #3) for Vucevic from Orlando or something. I just do not want Whiteside.

They'll have enough money. It's Washington's plan to make an offer to Durant. If Durant passes them up I can see them make a run at Dwight, but Gortat is more than serviceable too.

You make a great, great point about Dwight in LA though. What would have changed for him if he'd stayed? There was almost no negativity if he stays. That means he takes on the Laker mantle, gets all his endorsements, and today would be a massive recruiter for the cap space we have available. He would have gotten the max from us which means he'd have another year under contract and the Lakers have more than proven that they'll take care of their guys so he wouldn't be hurting for money.

Instead he's a villain in the NBA, won't get the max, and his people are having a hard time finding suitors for him.

Hopefully he can be a cautionary tale to people who bail on LA!

With as well as Drummond is playing, I don't get that. With Monroe gone, the paint is all his. You'd think they wouldn't try to bring in another big time big man to clog it back up for him. If I'm SVG, I get a great role playing PF who doesn't need touches and fill out the other positions with my $.
