Apparently neither would Trump since he said "I've said if Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her"

I feel so hopeless as it pertains to our political system. So very hopeless. If I HAD to choose a ticket, it'd be Rand as Prez and Rubio as VP. But even that I'm not totally comfortable with. Trump...Trump is the wrong answer to the right question in this country. If he becomes president, I could totally see us going to war with, like, everyone. He'll call Putin a d***wad or something like that and start a nuclear standoff.

    Cruz with the surprise win.

Clinton and Sanders still too close to call.

Watch out for Rubio. Strong showing -- now is the time to surge and he appears to be doing so.

A few have dropped out and I expect a few more in the next week.

I'd be fine with either Cruz or Rubio. Better than the alternatives.

I've never been more frightened of a presidential election. Well, I should say I've never been frightened at all of one, until now. Donald Trump? Really? How is he still in this, how is this is an actual thing? How is this real life? If Donald Trump becomes president we are frickin' doomed. The guys is unhinged, he has no filter, he's a psycho. What am I missing here, why are people cheering for things he says and supporting him? I don't want to bring up comparisons to early Hitler and go all extreme and exaggerate here, but...

I'm more afraid of Cruz than Trump tbh. Dude scares me. Legit scares me. Trump is a blowhard and megalomaniac that'll say anything to get elected, and will probably inadvertently start a war with some major nation. However, I'm starting to believe cruz wants an apocalypse. Just this line
I mean, what the hell dude?!

He's also stated he's a Christian first, and American second.

Yeah I'm not thrilled with any of the candidates. Worst lineup I can ever remember seeing.

Most people of faith put God before family or country. While I don't believe most candidates are as spiritual as they claim, they would all profess the same thing. Nothing strange here IMO.

Yeah I'm not willing to put in the work, but I'm sure we can find a major issue with one out of context statement from any of these guys/gals.

    Trump- everything he says.
Clinton- lies upon lies upon two-faced statements upon lies etc. Bona fide politician.
    Sanders- I WILL raise taxes!
Cruz- I will shake up the world!

    etc etc.

In the end, for me though, Trump is the only one that legitimately frightens me, because he's nuts. As mentioned, I think his mouth could start wars. Aside from him I think every other candidate who gets in is like every other president once they take the oath, most promises go out the window. I think they find out immediately they don't have as much power as they thought they would, as presidents come and go every 4-8 years, while the real people running things behind the scenes can stay a long, long time. Yes, I am a conspiracy theorist when it comes to certain things, lol.

    It's not a conspiracy.

Why do Presidents have to leave office after 8 years but we have people (sometimes entire families) who have been in Congress for decades? Lifetimes? It makes no sense at all. The political structure is weighed down by two things: money and the thing we tried to avoid hundreds of years ago leaving England- a ruling class. The Clintons, the Bushes (seriously trying to get three presidents out of that family), the Kennedys... The electoral college still exists for some reason.

It's all crap. The whole system needs to be torn down and rebooted.

That being said, Clinton scares me just as much as Trump does. She's every bit as crazy, but in a sleazier, slimier, more political way.

^^ Agree about Clinton. She's changed her stance on every single issue. Lie after lie after lie.

I don't really believe Trump really believes everything he says. I think he's playing a roll in a lot of ways. In fact, Im not convinced he expected to go this far as a candidate in the first place.

I have to think he's just wondering exactly how far he can take this. If he can be the president why would he stop? I don't think he can, but once he's booted from the process his life will just go back to whatever is normal for him.

I'm with Barns. I don't think Trump believes half of what he says. He's talking to his voter base - many of whom love the outlandish words he uses, even if they know he doesn't believe that stuff either. Example: Everyone knew Obama's position on gay marriage, despite him saying he was in favor of traditional marriage. Everyone knew! One of those wink-wink things.

While much of what Trump says is over the top, scary, deranged, etc, it doesn't really matter. He's not winning. Another example: my best friend is a liberal. he changed his party to Republican because he wants Trump around as long as possible. He'll switch back before the general election to vote D. But he finds Trump funny and outlandish. It's like a car wreck about to happen and you can't turn away. But at the big election, no one is really voting for a car crash. At least not the majority. LOL

The ONLY way I'd vote for Trump is if it came down to him and Hillary. Everyone knows I'm pretty far Right, but I'd vote Bernie before Trump. I hope most would. And Bernie is nuts!

Just want to add. I think trump is a dumb Lex Luthor. Billionaire going for the presidency on an anti "alien" policy and pandering to people's fears?

It's crazy how much momentum Bernie has created without all of the contributions and attack campaigning that others typically do.

I really think he'll overtake Hillary once more of her E-mail scandal and lies start to surface.

It's funny, for Bernie, the only thing anyone has against him is that 1. he's old 2. "taxes"

What many fail to understand, or in a bigger sense, completely ignore, a majority of his tax "revolution" is meant to undermine large corporations and the corruption that is Wall St. It's like, he repeats this over and over again to beat it to death, yet, it goes over everyone's head.

Yes, higher income taxes may be higher essentially, but it has been calculated, that it would SAVE money for people when it comes down to spending on healthcare, than the overall taxes that an average person would pay. Yet, that goes over the head of many people too.

The money that is REQUIRED to build American infrastructure is through taxation. There's no other way. There is too much money that is lost to corruption and loopholes and overpriced healthcare and education.

People should not be scared of taxes. The effect on middle to low class is minimal as it would be for those avoiding and loopholing them.

I'm not here to push for Bernie, but between any of the candidates, he is by and far, the lesser of the "bad" to be truly honest. He doesn't flip flop on his word, he's been saying the same thing for 30 years now. He is a People's president. He may not land on all sides of issues for everyone, like guns, equality, drugs...etc., but those honestly are all ancillary to the biggest issue in America, and that is the dying 99% Middle/Low class which is the foundation of America.

Bernie is saying what Obama said. No more wars, Wall St bad, tax the rich, eliminate debt.

He did none of that and I don't believe Bernie or any other candidate will.

Bernie has been preaching to the choir the same ideas since the 80's. So I doubt he's one to not try. It's not that Bernie wouldn't, it's that he most likely won't get much of what he wants passed through Congress. It's too corrupt.

Obama on the other hand, is a flip-flopper. He doesn't have 1 mindset and tries to appease everyone, but ends up screwing himself.
