^^ Pretty much agreed TIME and realdeal. I mean, I tuned out not even out of protest but just boredom and un-watchability the last two games. I was very excited about our young core this year, even if I was concerned about Russell. Then he ended up playing WAY better than I had ever hoped and I was psyched. And Randle was putting up 5 double doubles in 6 games. Then BORON let all the air out of the sails by benching those two. It was the most asinine, incompetent thing I've seen in ages. And even more it was just a total joykill. It sucked all the energy out of the room basically. We've been gasping for air ever since. The starting unit is just horrid and digs a ditch every game while some of our most exciting and capable players are just rotting on the pine. Hard to watch my friends.

well said. if byron wanted to start them off on the bench, i would have understood. but to go to it just after they appeared to start getting on track...just bizarre. and to stick with it when the team's performance has been about the same (dismal) is even less defensible.

Heck I think they've been much worse with them off the bench. It's been proven time and time again that the young guys are the ones that get us back into games when we're blown out. The starting unit CONSISTENTLY gives us a 10+ point deficit to work with. It took Byron, what about 10 games or so to judge the kids and put them on the bench, but here we are half way through January and we're still with the second lineup that sucks even worse? No prospect of going back to seeing the kids in starter roles? Nothing?

The incompetence is staggering. I truly wish I could fail upwards as well as Byron has coaching.

Exactly. Same here for the last two games. It's just un-watchable.

I tuned out after are our 3 game win streak. By that I mean watching the highlights. I stopped watching full games about 15 games into the season.

    Very frustrating.

I keep watching and that's probably because I have no life. Everybody who stopped watching is smarter than me.

I'll never stop watching. It's definitely harder, but when we get good again I'll remind myself I stuck it out and thus makes the winning feel that much sweeter.

What I did stop doing a while ago is communicating in the GameTime Chat. Just not as fun talking about a fun team on an instant chat basis

So after going to the game, I can say that the team looks just as sh***y in person as on TV.

Does B0ron do anything in person that we don't see on tv, or does he really stand there the whole game arms folded, and barely communicate with the players in timeouts?

Our best stretches, unsurprisingly, were when we had Kobe, Russell, Clarkson, Randle and either Bass or Hibbert in the lineup all together. That lineup with either center kept us in the ball game and gave us some nice plays. The other lineups were pretty bad.

There is no good reason at all for Russell and Randle not to start. It gives us our best chance to win, our best basketball and it develops our young core. It makes no sense that Boron isn't doing it.

honestly, randle responded terribly to his benching. he completely lost all mojo. if I were coach, he'd stay there until he made contact on 10 consecutive screens and stopped getting front row seats for opposing guards' layups.

I'd start nance or bass at pf until randle decided to be a pro.

on the other hand, how Russell hasn't proven that he's the starting pg and maybe the best player on the team is beyond me. not sure what else he has to do. even lou Williams knows he's a sixth man. put him in that role.

    Not that I could tell.

    Some highlights:
I particularly enjoyed early and heavy Ryan Kelly minutes, missing 3 after 3. Stretch 4 without the stretch, and barely a 4.

I also enjoyed watching Randle bobble the ball in the post and failing to convert a lot of 2 footers.

It was just funny hearing the collective groans of the crowd whenever the team managed to mess up something straightforward.

The highlight of the night must have been the crowd chanting MVP for Kobe just because he subbed in during the 4th. Any time the crowd saw Kobe on the monitor or in-game cheers erupted. It's kinda sad that's all we had going for us.

That JC dunk was pretty electric.

Brandon Bass is clearly being showcased for a trade. I would say the same for Ryan Kelly except I am not sure what there is to showcase.

A group of guys behind us decided they would try to sneak into a row of empty seats on the opposite side of Staples, about 3 or 4 rows behind where the Laker girls sit. They left with less than a minute before halftime, walked all the way over there, sat down, and were approached by an usher and asked to vacate the seats within about 5-10 minutes. Kinda hilarious.

Me and my buddy left with around 2 minutes to go in the 4th because we were down big and we wanted to beat traffic. Yay.

LOLOL ..... I enjoyed this post. Am going with my son, thank you Son!! .....early first days of February. Hope to see Kobe on the floor in person one last time, though it hasn't been a whole bunch of Staples in person for me since Kobe got here. 3 all in the same season, I think right before they won their first championship with Shaq and Kobe ..... that season .... the seats direct f****** behind Chick and Stu. I was proud of myself for not setting one of those $8 16oz Staples beers on the flat top of the wall behind them and then accidentally knocking it over in my Lakers buzz. Those seats were season tickets for an extended family member's friend who let him and my family use them that one year. I hear we have nice seats. Stay healthy Kobe and looking forward especially for first in person look at D'Angelo Russell. At some point ..... has to earn it ..... likely my next Avatar. Might be a couple of years though. :Kobeheadbob:

Hey lakersyunowin ..... did you hear any of this last night? We need more of this!! It's not even attacking Boron directly although he needs to BE attacked directly and messed the hell up big time for what he has done to this promising squad this year. Have mentioned "blanket party" of a very physical kind twice myself here. But if he hears these cheers/JEERS then he knows it's directly at him and his own sorry a** performance.
