He's such an enigma. I want to see his defensive numbers. His offense talent is pretty impressive. He sorta does it all:
His per36 this year: 17.1 points, 10.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists (vs. 2.1 TOs), 1.1 steals, 1.6 blocks, and he's shooting 49% from the floor. He has the best PER on the team, the second best Win Shares per 48, and he is one of only four players with a positive ORtg - DRtg.

i feel like kelly has shown well when he gets to play the pf spot alongside some better defenders. the problem is that i don't want him playing over randle or nance, and both guys can really only play the pf at this point.

if the lakers make a minor trade at the deadline, i'd hope it would be moving bass or kelly for a comparably talented sf. maybe some other team has the opposite problem (too many sfs, not enough pfs)?

    I mean, it could be.

He averaged 13/6/2.6/0.9/1.2 as a rookie per 36, had the third highest WS/48 on the team, and he shot the ball better from distance. I honestly don't know what to make of Kelly, and maybe that's why we should consider moving on.

Still, I don't want Kelly here for even a backup role. I want him as a third stringer. He'll play against scrubs and hopefully abuse them.

Maybe even move Kelly for a second rounder at this point.

wonder if you could get it. a sf buried on someone else's depth chart seems more attainable.

I'm sure we could move some combination of Kelly/Young/Bass for some random SF buried somewhere. Some kid that the team has given up on.

Glad to see Russell trending up. So is his TS. It's at 49% right now. According to GT on LG, his TS is 59.9% in his last 5 games not including the OKC game (he was hurt). Good stuff.

I think Timothe Luwawu, who pulled out of the draft last year after failing to secure a first round promise (apparently), is a good candidate for an Ariza type player.

Are the Hawks so bad at 3s that teams are literally leaving them wide open or is their ball movement so good that they can get wide open so often? Probably a combination of both, but it's insane to see that nearly 60% of their 3pt attempts have been wide open.

Meanwhile, it's disgusting to see that we're only open about a quarter of the time. Geez. We're so far behind every other team.
