Oh hell yeah, Boron, (not directed at you, real) that screams start him to me when Bryant is out over Metta to keep him happy to keep doing the good he's doing for our team, or Nick Young who certainly is a better player than Anthony Brown at the 3 right now. Since you are trying to win games always. Always be winning right, Boron? Guys have to earn their minutes, right Boron? Clown makes his way into every thread because of asinine way he handles virtually every player.

His one positive thing, ONE, this season..... is giving minutes to Nance to let him shine and show he belongs in the rotation. But he didn't have to f*** Randle who fought his way back from the broken leg and his entire lost rookie season, to do it.

Well that's a low bar to hurdle because of Johnson's head. He's going to need to start blowing up like Clarkson and Nance have done with the minutes and confidence given from starting a number of successive games. He's probably not the athlete Wes is but if he does blow up yeah he could be pretty decent or better. Just that Scott talks the talk with players needing to earn minutes and he's not tearing up the D league and Tarik Black is, but who does he choose to start, if he's all about the winning. Brown over Metta and Young? No, give him minutes in reserve then.

Just tryin to throw out somethin positive. Had to give the lowest hurdle. And I did say gonna be. But yeah the starting right now is completely laughable.

I'm saying he could be maybe decent, agreeing with you, but he better start showing it quick like Clarkson and Nance have once they were elevated into the starting lineup. Low bar to hurdle was just a shot at Wes. He should be better than he is. It would be great if Brown could because of his Stanford smarts and size and hopefully skills become a better and more consistent player than Wes.

I'm not rooting against the guy, but he's only being asked to do 2 things and I don't see much in one area, and I see almost nothing in the other. He's being asked to play defense, where he looks lost, and to make open shots, which he can't do even in the D-League. 3 and D guy that really isn't doing either, although I do see defensive potential and effort. Still, as a 4 year college player you'd think he'd be more ready. Can he be a decent role player if he finally starts making shots? Yeah, probably, but I don't have a lot of confidence in that happening at the moment.

I reread my comments in this thread. They're pretty funny because they're so non-committal. The short version:

"Seems like he can hit three."
    "Maybe he can shoot threes."
"I hope he can shoot threes."
    "He's not really hitting threes."
    "I don't know what's going on here."

32 freaking mins, most out of everyone. What does he have to show for it?

    4 pts, 1-6 (0-3 from 3pt), 3 rebs, 1 blk, 4 fouls

What has he done to deserve the start whenever Kobe is out. We have Young and Metta. Heck if you are going to experiment, throw Nance at the 3 and see what happens.

He's invisible out there. The article I just read in another thread from LakersNation calling him a ghost on offense couldn't be more accurate. You get all that time out there, use it, DO something. Try and make an actual impact on the game in some way, at all.

Maybe being invisible out there is what [IMG] wants him to do and being so great at it earns him the starting spot and so many minutes...

I'm not going to blame Brown. What a ridiculous situation to be put in. Don't play AT ALL in the NBA, play a couple D-League games, and then be called upon to start against OKC and GS. WTF kind of plan for success is that?

he does things. mostly missing open shots with one of the slowest releases i've ever seen. FO whiffed on this one, imo. that's ok; nance was a big hit at his spot, and 50% on picks outside the lotto is pretty darn good.

I don't mind saying it, he played some great defense tonight. Very active on the ball and getting over the top of screens.

He's like Wes Johnson with a bit of D. That is to say he's someone who contributes zero on O and a bit on D.

I'm not expecting much from him out there, and against Durant, I'm not expecting anything. So he pleasantly surprised me tonight, that's one of the hardest assignments in the league.

Maybe he'll develop ... or maybe it was his Ebanks game ...

Made no sense to sit him down the stretch and had Kobe to guard KD though

Finally a glimpse of something worthwhile. He played excellent defense out there, but still was nonexistent on offense. Hopefully he continues to grow.
