I brought up Derozan weeks ago and was met with strong skepticism. :D

He's not an ideal fit, but f*** ideal fit just give us talent. We need talent more than we need anything else.

^^ Sure, ideally I'd like Harrison Barnes over Derozan because he's a better defender and 3 point shooter and Derozan is more of a slasher. But we really do need talent drastically so beggars can't be choosers. We have to get a couple nice FA's here this summer no matter what. We can't be striking out again.

I mentioned him early on, too. I think he works.

^Feel the same way; when you're 5-27, ideal fit doesn't matter.

I think KD signs 1+1 deal in OKC. I think he'll make that decision relatively quickly, and if OKC flames out, he'll give it one more shot with Ibaka and Russ, IMO. That would change our strategy and give us one more offseason to potentially look attractive to KD. What do I mean by attractive? Fielding a PO squad, continued improvement by our youngsters, and look like we're heading in a positive direction.

Either way, this summer, you need to add at least 1 max or somebody that's close to max this year, and in this case, I'd be fine with DeRozan. Fill in the other pieces and keep a Max Slot open the following summer.

I'd break the bank for Harrison Barnes. He can play 3 positions. He's a restricted free agent though.

I'd love to take a chance on Derozan for the right price. I don't think he'd keep up that level of play out in the West. You gotta bring it every night but he's intriguing

I've been trumpeting Barnes for month(s?). From what I've heard though Golden State is very willing to match on all their RFAs even if it means the luxury tax. That means Ezeli and Barnes are unlikely to move even if Golden State has to overpay for them.

The team has 2 gaping holes at Center and at SF.

Nothing against young players but trying to develop too many young players at the same time is a disaster. Hope they address those lineup needs in free agency. We need some luck with that draft pick too (assuming the sixers don't get it)

Let's steal Luke, Barnes and Ezeli from GSW.

I disagree that fit doesn't matter. That's part of the issue this season. We have talent, but it doesn't fit at all and I don't think Derozan does anything to change that. He's a terrific player, but he's a slasher and a ball dominant one at that. He can't shoot and lanes will continue to be clogged for the three young guys if we sign him. While Batum and Barnes aren't as talented they're clearly better fits because they play without the ball and can shoot threes to space the floor.

    Size matters

    So does fit

Can't be throwing hot dogs down hallways, etc.

I just hope that we don't give a joe Johnson or Rashard Lewis type contract.

Well firstly, no fit doesn't really matter. Wade and LeBron weren't ideal fits, but if you have talent you're more competitive. Yes I know Derozan isn't LeBron, but Derozan would be profoundly more useful to a playoff run than say Evan Turner or some other lower tier SF that will be available. Secondly, yes you're right lanes would likely be clogged for drives for a while. Lastly, I'd say Barnes is just as talented as Derozan he just doesn't have the same green light and a different mentality.

However, Barnes is RFA and while I have been chief among the Barnes supporters, every indication is that the Warriors will match any offer. I would prefer Batum to Derozan, but if we can get Derozan and not Batum then I'll take that too. Derozan is an LA guy while Batum is an international player. There's more of a chance Derozan takes the leap in my opinion than Batum, but I'd gladly take either for what will almost assuredly be the max.

Derozan is one of the worst shots takers in the league ... contested 2s early in the shot clock ... His efficiency is saved by the way opponents are biting on his fakes so he's going to the FT line quite a lot .

Fit DOES matter , Derozan isn't a good one and doesn't have as much impact as his stats would say ...

Lebron - Wade started working once Wade started playing off the ball more and cut to the hoop .

We need a player who is mainly a 3 and D guy at the SF position

KD shouldn't waste another season in OKC ..

OKC Roster 4 through 10-12 isn't very good and isn't going to change a lot ...

If he wants to win now :

    1) Go East
    2) to a team with a solid roster and system
    3) Answer : should go to ATL ( never going to happen though)

He has no ring and probably will end up his current 9th season without a first one .

The clock starts ticking for him , I doubt money is his priority , he's stacked anyways

I don't think he or his representatives will agree, but we'll see.
