Decided I can't wait the 3 weeks or so that it will take for good seats to open up for the IMAX Laser 3D showings so I'm gonna go check out another standard showing tonight. Although the only open seats for this was in the "D-Box" section. I've never seen a movie like this before, but apparently the chairs move to immerse you more into the movie. Might be pretty cool, but if it gets distracting I'll turn it off and just enjoy the movie.

Well people are posting spoilers now, so here we go.

I believe Rey is Luke's daughter. I feel she was mind wiped when she was a child and dumped on the planet. Maz saying the lightsaber was Anakin's then Luke's now it calls to you...I mean, that's a pretty straight line if you ask me. I think when she closes her eyes when Kylo has her up against the cliff, she starts to remember because from that moment on, she turns into someone different. When she shows up at the base, Leia walks right past Chewie, her husband's best friend right after Han died, and gives some girl who she doesn't know a hug? There was a look of recognition on both their faces. And why would Leia send some girl she doesn't know on possibly the most important recruiting trip of the century? It only makes sense if Luke has a STRONG connection to that girl.

I DO NOT believe Finn is Force sensitive. I think the part where Kylo looks over at him is simple Kylo sensing the conflict in him, not the Force. I think Finn is going to have an important role to play, but his battle will be with Phasma.

I find Daisy to be a little cuter, it's the hazel (almost hint of green) eyes, the freckles, and she doesn't look like she need to eat a sandwich. And just FYI, I have not seen this movie yet and it's killing me. The illness I had for almost a week is only now starting to go away, I'm only slowly regaining strength and eating normal, but my body is destroyed lol. The second I'm up to it I'm I am there though, I just worry that will be around Christmas and the shows will be sold out. I can't wait to click on all the spoiler tags on here and see all your thoughts and theories. I assume it's sort of like after SW in 77 and fans got to theorize what was coming next, nothin like it, can't wait.

Part of me almost wants TFA to end up being Episode X. I know it's not going to happen, but it feels like enough interesting stuff happened in the past 30 years that they could fit another "prequel" trilogy between RotJ and TFA. There are so many unanswered questions, but at this point I hope that the next movie advances the current plot instead of focusing too much on filling in the blanks with flashbacks. Aside from the obvious questions regarding Ren and Rey's background, I also really want to know more about the current state of the galaxy. How did the First Order get so powerful because at this point they feel like the major institution in the galaxy with the New Republic being treated like rebels.

Thank you JJ for helping us move on from what Lucas did to us with those prior three cluster f***s. It wasn't a perfect movie, but it was so damn good. What a perfect sequel to the originals. The tone, pace, humor, characters, music, action, acting -- all top notch. Such a wonderful cinema experience when I saw it Friday night. Started off with goosebumps during the iconic text scroll. I couldn't stop smiling and grinning throughout this fun ride JJ gave us. Finn and Rey are young leads you feel comfortable handing the keys to the franchise to unlike Hayden and Portman (Portman is a pretty good actress, so i put more blame on Lucas and a God awful script/dialog).

I loved that starting around the second act, this felt like a Han Solo movie. He got to be the lead in his final Star Wars film (although Kennedy says they'll all be back...guessing in flashback/dream sequences). He's my favorite character in the entire universe. It's really tough seeing him topple into what looked like a bottomless pit and then to see it get blown up. Honestly, I didn't pick up on the bread crumbs and I should've. In every single interview he did, they talked about him wanting his character to die off some 30 years ago. Had to be hard for him to hold back that grin. Then even though the film was a mirror of a New Hope and I saw the Obi-Wan/Han parallels they were going with it never hit me that he wouldn't make it until Leia told him to "bring back our son." Then I knew he was a gonner, but part of me still refused to believe it. I thought they'd steer right when everyone was expecting them to turn left, JJ even made you question it when Ben/Ren nearly hands him the lightsaber. I loved seeing Chewie go all Rambo after Han died though, I'm very curious to see where the Wookie goes from here. Han's death is a great motivation for Rey, Leia, and Luke though. And I trust that if they were going to kill off one of the most iconic characters in cinematic history, they have a fully charted plan for its significance and how it impacts those close to him moving forward vs. it just being a shock value death.

Rey has to be Luke's daughter. That's the only explanation that makes sense to me. They drew every parallel they could and then when it was ruled out that she wasn't Han/Leia's daughter, that's the only scenario left in my mind. The biggest case for me was hate much hatred Ren has for her, that's a blood hatred and he was jealous of how close she was with his dad. And I think Han offering her a job was his way of keeping her close and keeping an eye on her.

Misc - I read there's at least 20 minutes of footage that didn't make the cut, including Chewie ripping a baddies arms off.
They must've really liked what they saw out of Poe (I think there's a lot of potential for them with that character) because he initially died off after the opening scene. Then they later decided to bring him back for the death fake out twist.
Han's death wasn't their initial plan for the character. They had he and Leia reconciling at the end, but said Han felt like "luggage" and wasn't really serving a purpose for moving the story along outside of nostalgia.

If you're serious, left is Keira Knightley, right is Daisy Ridley.

And JSM, I agree on Portman, I love her in so many other things. Nobody could make that dialogue sound good though, or in her case make a believable love story with it. I'd say only Neeson, McGregor, and a couple others made the most out of that dialogue at times. And Christopher Lee and Ian McDiarmid were the only ones who seemed to have any fun with any of it. I think the best actor/character of the prequels was R2-D2. They even ruined C-3PO. Empire 3PO was perfect comic relief to me, prequels version was eye-rollingly, cringe-worthy bad.

Whoa whoa whoa. Don't want to get to far off topic, but Portman is gorgeous. Garden State is one of my favorite movies largely because of her.

I'm with you on that Helljumper. There's so much backstory they could explore but I think it might end up being too much of the OT cast, and they're just too old to fill that gap believably. I would bet there will be a book/comic someday to fill all that in though with Luke's academy, Ben's fall from grace etc etc.

Lol, that's funny, but they do look a ton alike. If you saw the rest of them in the pic you could tell them apart though, as Knightley has skeleton arms.

I googled them each because from those two picks, I needed to see other photos to be able to tell the difference, and yeah, Knightley needs to eat a steak or two lol

I think she needs to add some pancakes in there too. Steak isn't that high in calories. She needs calories too. :D

I'm actually with Helljumper. As similar as they look, Natalie has more of a "beauty" about her to where she can be stunning, but when she's not all made up she looks very average. Daisy is more in the "cute" realm.

Just saw it. I've heard a couple of people on the radio talking about how bad this movie was. Not sure what they were watching. Really nice job of tipping the hat constantly to the original while still carving out a new direction for the future. All the little details like the chess board were handled perfectly. I still have the original three on top mostly for nostalgia but this episode is right there.

Rey is most certainly Luke's daughter.

Great choice to make Ren a not yet fully trained apprentice.

Did not like them showing Snoke yet. I would have preferred introducing him slowly and hooded like they did with the Emperor.

Why oh why couldn't they have killed off Leia instead of Han?!?

I wasn't sure about Fin at first, but he grew on me. Rey was excellent.

The light saber fights were great.

Interesting that Ren's saber was much rougher than the Skywalker saber. I'm guessing that's because his training was not yet complete.
