D-Fenders back on the court tonight after like five days off. Interview with Updhaw. http://dleaguedigest.com/2015/11/23/robert-upshaw-on-early-season-performance/
Good interview from Upshaw. Saying all the right things. He'll be much better next year and hopefully make our team; we probably won't have a legit center then.
None of Anthony Brown, Robert Upshaw, and Manny Harris played last night. I'm trying to find out if it was just a rotational thing.
What do you think? Byron passes down the style he wants with his character building psychological approach to the game. He and Phil are so much alike in that regard ..... great to see!
Anthony Brown's been with the team on the road trip. Manny Harris and Upshaw are away for personal reasons.
Pincus said he's back now tonight after leaving for personal reasons. He wouldn't clarify what kind of reasons.
Upshaw is only getting 16 mins per game. 4.5 pts on 46.6% shooting 3.6 Reb and 1.9 Blks. Still pumping out blocks but a long way to go on the rest of his game. Surprised at the lack of minutes from the Defenders though and not sure who he is losing the minutes in favor to, the d-league's site is a joke.
Looks like some dude named Malcolm Thomas is getting all the minutes. He's averaging 18.3 PPG, 12.8 RPG and 2.8 BPG in 34 minutes.
It's a little man's league - everyone is a PG or wing. They just sprint up and down and launch. I've watched the majority of Upshaw's PT with the team. I think most of you would be quite impressed to see how he looks on the court now. He's much better conditioned and faster. He does have a lot to keep working on though - touch and rebounding are #1 and 2.
Watched him up close when I was going to school at San Diego State. He's athletic and long, but I don't think he's a consistent NBA player from what I have seen. Glad it sounds like he's improving though.
